DIY OEM to Save Money
My dealer wanted about $100 to replace my filter. My first problem with their request was the cost, the second was the Ford Filter Minder for my Super Duty wasn't even beginning to register. Since the service advisor was so insistent I decided to go the DIY route. Reasonable price for a true OE filter. Getting the cover to snap back on took some adjusting, that was the only challenge. I used a quality digital postal scale to weigh the new filter, and then compare with the old filter. I had roughly 0.2 ounces of dust/etc collected on the old one, so it truly did have a lot of life left. Read more
