These blinds were perfect. I purchased an inside mount unit with a solar panel. Installation was very easy and fit perfectly. The solar panel stuck on the window great and I was able to hide it from view while still getting plenty of charge. Remote set up was a breeze and the motor is super quiet. The media could not be loaded. Product shade material and mechanism feel excellent. Build quality, finish and soft start/stop function speak quality. Packaging was good. Instructions were average but quality of hardware made installation a breeze. My application is 70" wide and the 3 hangers provided struggle to support the shade flush across the full width of the window frame. With a valance, the sagging shouldn't be noticeable but still a minor detail that was overlooked. I am using this shade in a home theater. Light leakage is a minor issue even with the trim installed around the edges. Light leakage on top is also an issue and would have likely been remedied if I had purchased a valance. I will fabricate something that will work so that is not a major issue. My big issue is this. I use Apple Home for automation and the projector, all AV and lighting is automated. The intent was to have the shade lower when the projector turns on. From the splash screen, "Motorized Blinds Roller Shade with Remote: Canisteo Automatic Smart Blind for Windows 100% Blackout, Electric Blinds Compatible with Alexa/Google Home/Apple Homekit, Customized Size,Noir Black". The issue I have is that the screen is NOT natively compatible with Apple Home. You must buy the screen with a special motor for an extra fee of $49.00 or so. Not a biggie but this requirement is not obviously called out as a requirement. The product is not returnable which is understandable given that it is a custom built product. When you claim compatibility without explicitly stating extra costs associated with additionally required hardware, that is deceptive. They sent me a confirming size email. They should also ask about the application specific to automation. I will update when I get a response from the vendor but warn those who are not automation literate to proceed with caution specific to your application of the shade. Edit: After reaching out to the company regarding the issue, I was quickly contacted with a solution. New motor and complimentary valence for my trouble. For me, the real test of a company is not when things go perfect but how they respond when there is an issue. Canisteo performed. I will buying more from them soon.
