I purchased this as a resting place for a logitech wireless media keyboard to a second computer in an effort to help keep the keyboard out of the way when not needed. Works very well for my needs. I have this bracket mounted to the back of an older 27" LED display (ViewSonic). Even though this is not a large display, I was only able to use one of the VESA mount points to connect this bracket (i.e. only one bolt holds this in place). With my keyboard, this bracket is a tad wobbly due to the thinner gauge pressed metal used. The platform itself is relatively small (~8"x8") and has a lip on the front. I cannot provide details as to how well this will work for a DVD player or similarly size media device but suspect that you may want to consider some type of anti-slip matting to help mitigate a unit from sliding off the platform. I used this as an add-on for my TV stand that has no shelf for the mini computer that drives my online streaming movies and TV series. I unconventionally zip-tied the shelf to the TV stand leg and it holds perfectly. I'm sure Velcro or other methods would work too. The shelf is stable and capable of holding my mini computer without issue. Read more

I made the mistake of buying one of those plastic adjustable stands and my crazy expensive DVD player took a nose dive to the tile floor after a few months. Never again. I bought this one for my RV where there will be a lot of movement. This is super sturdy. I will never need anything else. Read more
