I bought the 3" Gold version November 2025. Pros: * USB and 3.5mm ports are well designed and the USB port is well machined, smooth enough to feel like glass and tight enough to support the weight of the entire player. *Sounds better than my PS3 playing the same files through my edison bookshelf speakers... *it's so light weight and still feels solid *battery life lasted about 6 and a half hours while playing on its built in speaker and playing with it. * charge time is faster than my phone *all the things it comes with, screen protector, silicone case, 64gb tiff card, all for 42 dollars is worth it for me to try out one of these devices to see if I even like them... I do like this a lot already. + built in speaker is way better than expected. +plays continuously for hours with the screen off, and Long press vol up/down = Next/previous song....short press vol up/down is vol +-... hidden feature not in the manual*** +no subscriptions, no ads, just clean music player (and video player, calendar, calculator, e-book reader, voice recorder, etc) for 42 bucks is again above my expectations Cons: - non-removable battery, I don't see any easy way to remove the cover and hopefully this lasts long enough that I could replace the battery with another one b/c I don't want to throw it away after only a few years...it's nice enough to make a version that allows us to change the battery. - it isn't an andriod OS, and will lag a little bit if you're loading a lot of files to play. Still works fine, just hit play and let it spool up a few seconds to play that large file (video or doc).***update: with a brand new name brand SDCARD it loads instantly, even movies that are almost 1GB (haven't tried things over 1gb yet). So no more lagging, ensure you get a fast sdcard as now this player is lightening fast, plays as soon as the button gets activated. - the silicone cover is a little too hard and the places where I need to press buttons isn't intuitive. I've often tried to find the volume up/down and accidentally turned off the screen instead. - it is a tiny screen yet with my old eyes I can still use it fine with reading glasses...the clarity is fantastic even on video. They do have larger models but I wanted the most economical player I could find. Glad I found this one. - Playlists. there's only 5, and they cannot be renamed. Also, the only way to add to a playlist is by listening to the song you want to play....Also, as you build the playlist, it's in the order you add the song(s), and there isn't any way to move any song up or down the list while it's in the list...the only way to do this is to delete song by song until you can re-add each song in an order you want. Also, to delete a song in a playlist, it's not easy...each deletion must be from backing out of the list, and re-entering the list, to highlight that song to delete from the list...once that's done, start over. It's tedious yet once the playlist is done it is easy to select any of the 5 to listen to. Overall, it's my 1st and so affordable for what you get with what they ask us to pay... I'm quite pleased with it. I had an issue with playing .flac files (*fixed, see above*) but the seller replied to my question in a few hours and I think the files are corrupt or maybe way too big (they're all over 120MB for each music file...maybe there's a limit to the size of a .flac)... so probably smaller files would work.... it does run movies that are much bigger though. This is my first mp3/mp4 player and I think it will be enough for my needs that I won't have to upgrade to a more expensive brand, as this is working just fine. Would recommend for people who need a basic player without any subscriptions or ads and just want to listen to music. Perfect for riding the bus, train, ignoring co-workers, flights, etc. The only thing I would want in a future version is to be able to set my own equalizer. It has 5 presets that are normal, classical, soft, pop, and rock... I would rather have a bass and treble slider or if it's not too much extra work, a 5 channel eq I can set.... and a replaceable battery. Update: Jan 30th 2026, a few months of daily usage. The FM radio is now 99% static, there is only one channel that i can slightly hear some talk under a ton of static and volume has to be at max level to hear the undecipherable talk due to extreme static... No radio stations or reception is functional. The stations are all set, and even manually dialing in = static. It is always plugged into the USB charger and a 3.5mm audio cord to a powered set of speakers. So it stays at 100% battery, yet it will power itself off intermittently. The time (clock) is unable to keep accurate time. It reverts to 11am often, just sitting on a nightstand, it will lose power, turn off, turn on, and it's 11am (even though it's 9pm or any other time). I don't know why it reverts to 11am and no amount of power cycling the device solves this weird ghost. It was worth having for the 5 hours flight as some passengers were incredibly annoying and this device (and my headphones) did allow me to drown all that commotion out.
