My kids like to wear shin guards without straps. They come with "sleeves" but they are easily lost with a 7 & 8 year old. We put the shin guards in the socks and then put tape on the outside of the socks around their ankles to keep them in place. The tape is great and will stay in place even in the rain. Read more
