At first cup I thought this mushroom coffee was a mushroom cocoa drink because the taste is so much like cocoa. I used a heaping tablespoon which is a lot for 10 oz so that probably intensified the taste. Using less powder in later cups I got the intensity into the middling range which personally I enjoyed more. It's very difficult to judge this product on taste; I imagine you either like it or you don't. I do like it, but I'm not sure their addition of instant coffee suits me. Why not sell just mushroom powder and mention that this product can be mixed with coffee if desired? That makes more sense to me than to pre-mix it with instant coffee (at least it's Arabica, the good stuff). Priced at just under twenty dollars it seems this 'dilution' with instant coffee did not result in any price reduction. That would be my main reason for docking this product down to four stars. It's a high price for about 7 ozs of beverage powder. If the powder were purely made from mushrooms, which I imagine are expensive to source, I'd understand the high price more. That said, the price of this product does seem in line with competing mushroom drink products. Do I enjoy this as a hot drink? Yes, much like tea. Cold I have not tried. Do I like the cocoa taste without sugar? Yes. Is it a fine alternative to strong, caffeinated coffee? Yes. But where they lose me is making it essentially a "half-caff" product by putting in instant coffee. I'd prefer just the mushroom powder, perhaps augmented by herbs, but not augmented by the instant coffee powder. That's just me. Then there is the aspect of the nutritional or medicinal properties. I think there is something to the idea of certain mushrooms having powerful health benefits. How well this product conveys such benefits, if such benefits exist, is impossible to review objectively though. So I leave the claims about the particular ingredients to the buyer to research. I cannot say this drink made me feel any better or any worse. I don't think it sharpened my focus, but I don't have issues with focus. Even major health benefits might be too subtle to notice, so who knows? If you do seek a mushroom drink for nutritional benefits, I do think this product is probably as good as any. Read more

I'm not a big fan of mushrooms, but I definitely love my coffee so I figured I'd give this a shake. Unfortunately it's just not very good. I've tried it a few different ways (varying how much water, with or without milk and sugar etc) and it's just....bad. To be clear I got the "Dark roast" and even then it's more of a medium at best; but honestly most of the flavor is just....dirt. I guess technically I should call it "Earthy" but that's what it really is, dirt. I mean it does SMELL nice, almost like a cup of cocoa, though you won't get that in the flavor. Read more

I've been a big fan of taking mushroom supplements for a long time, way before it became trendy. Just wow. I didn't realize how bad the k-pods tasted until I tried these! This stuff smells and tastes like REAL authentic coffee. Its heavenly! For just $18, you get a good sized bag that comes with a 30 day supply, which is a great price, and it's packed with quite a few different mushrooms and other vitamins that are SO nutritionally beneficial for you. The lion's mane helps you focus, the cordyceps give you energy, the turkey tail is great for digestion and gut health, the shiitake boosts your immune system, I mean the list just goes on and on. Despite it being packed with a bunch of mushrooms, it does NOT taste like mushrooms even a little bit! So if you're a coffee lover but you hate mushrooms, do not worry... it only has a really good coffee flavor, THAT'S IT. You won't even know mushrooms are in it. I promise. I truly feel like it gives me a feel-good energy, not the crazy, jittery kind that comes with a midday crash out. Like I just feel like I can and want to get things done and be productive with my day, and I need that little boost SO bad.. I've woken up many times just feeling like it will take a miracle to even get me out of bed, and this coffee actually gives me something to look forward to every morning. I actually look forward to jumping up and making my delicious cup of mushroom coffee every morning because I know it's going to make me feel better and give me that extra bump of motivation to start my day and keep it going. Also, I have an electric milk frother that I use to blend it up in hot water, and it doesn't leave behind any lumps or clumps. It mixes very well and the texture is smooth. Obviously I can't guarantee that this stuff is going to change your life, but I know for me it's made a noticeable difference in my mood and energy level throughout the day and that's exactly what I was hoping for, that's what I've drank coffee every morning for years for!
