I have used this method for years with very young beginners. It is a fun and engaging introduction to piano. This level introduces more notes on the staff as well as steps and skips on the staff and is a great preparation for Piano Adventures Level 1. Students learn Middle C as well as C 5-finger position and are introduced to three "new" composers: Tchaikovsky, Brahms, and Haydn. Classical melodies are woven throughout the book as are original compositions by the Fabers. Read more

This book has been wonderful for my 8-year-old. The instructions are easy to follow, the songs are fun, and it keeps him excited to practice. A great choice for beginners! Read more

This book seems to understand children. Each lesson seems to cover exactly what our daughter is needing to understand and remember better. Read more

The Faber piano books are the BEST there is. Kids love them. I love them because I get to play duets with 5 year olds. Read more

When my daughter began to take piano lessons, her teacher recommended this series because it was a great introduction to piano for kids who cannot yet read. She began with Book A and has worked her way up to Book C. Each book has two components (sold separately), a Lesson Book and a Writing Book. The Lesson Book has different songs that the student learns to play through practice. It comes with a CD that has the songs on them and the student can play along with the CD. The CD also has some songs that the student does not play along with, but helps to introduce new music ideas. Overall, we've really enjoyed this series and my daughter has learned a lot. Read more

The book was intended as a gift for one of my students who's been making great progress but I cannot give her the book because it's ripped at the top and it's bent and it looks like a used book. I will keep it but I'm going to have to purchase a second one to replace this. Read more

I have used the Piano Adventure series for years to teach students in my studio (40-47 students). I am really digging using the "My first pianos adventures" books for my 4, 5, and sometimes 6 and 7 year olds. I would rather move slowly than frustrate students and I like the way this book teaches certain things BETTER than the Piano Adventure Primer book. I find my students coming out of this book are (on average) more prepared for the level 1 books. They are definitely reading better and have more fun. The Level C book has my favorite melodies in the "My First" series and I think the songs are better than the Primer level books which range from "quite brutal" to "OK". The arrangements in level C are as good as can be expected for the level and most importantly don't frustrate students. I love that the fingerings change in every song and don't stay the same for an entire book like some other horrible method books. The writing book that goes along with these is fun for most students and some of my kids even LOVE the activity book. The CD's are all cheesy and I prefer to play the teacher duet parts with the students. Sometimes the written duets are OK sometimes they are kind of dull, so if you can improvise something for the lame ones. Overall, all the piano adventure books make my life easier and lay out a great method for MOST students. Read more
