I'm not sure exactly what these little phone ring things are supposed to do, they didn't improve the joystick action on my Xbox controller very much for me but I can see where people might like them. Do you remember some caps I did find very useful and are still currently using. Considering the fact that you get six different foam inserts to rubber caps and some stickers for $8 I have no complaints about this. This is a nice product for what it is. I'd heard of these aiming rings, but had never tried them. They were easy to install (and remove) from my controllers. They did work to slow down movements and add some resistance. As far as I can tell, they are exactly what they are meant to be and do. However, it turns out that I don't actually like the action of the sticks with these aiming rings installed. That is absolutely no fault of the product, just the nature of trying new things. I've been gaming forever and I'm frankly shocked (pun intended) to have never come across such a unique product. The kit comes with several different sponge thicknesses so you'll have to see what suits you best, but I find that the most dense sponge works best for me. I almost only play racing games so where this product excels for me is my ability to finely control direction of my car. It's tough to describe but it essentially gives you more of a sense that you're actually feeling the steering in your car. It's not force feedback, but it does give you that type of connection. The manufacturer also includes a pair of silicone covers for your controls and these also fit nicely, but I would say don't really add or detract from my experience when playing racing games.
