If you are tired of replacing cracked plastic water bottles or scrubbing mold out of complicated straw assemblies, the Nalgene Grip-N-Gulp is the "buy it once" solution you’ve been looking for. We have put these through the ringer, and they are easily the most reliable bottles in our cupboard. 🏗️ Built for Real Life (and Gravity) Nalgene is famous for their outdoor gear, and they’ve brought that same "bombproof" quality to the kids' line. Drop Tested: My toddler has launched this from a high chair onto hardwood and kicked it across concrete driveways. Aside from a few superficial scuffs, it remains perfectly intact. No cracks, no shattered lids. The "Sustain" Material: I love that these are made from 50% recycled material without sacrificing that crystal-clear, glass-like look. It feels sturdy in the hand, not flimsy like disposable plastics. 💧 Leak-Proof & Easy to Clean The "Grip-N-Gulp" name is accurate. The indented sides make it easy for small hands to hold, but the real winner is the valve system. No Spills: The silicone valve is highly effective. You can turn this upside down and shake it, and not a drop escapes. Hygienic Design: Unlike many "sip" cups with 5+ tiny parts, this has a simple lid and a removable silicone insert. It is incredibly easy to deep-clean, which is a huge relief for preventing mold buildup. Plus, it’s top-rack dishwasher safe! 🎒 Travel & Portability The integrated loop on the lid is a lifesaver. We use a carabiner to clip it to the diaper bag or stroller, ensuring it doesn't get "lost at sea" during zoo trips or park visits. It also fits perfectly in standard car seat cup holders—a small detail that makes a big difference on road trips. ✅ Pros: Virtually indestructible BPA/BPS-free plastic. Only two parts to wash (lid and valve). Fits in car seat and stroller cup holders. Odor-resistant (doesn't retain that "old juice" smell). ❌ Cons: It is a "sip" style, so it requires a bit of suction. If your child is used to a free-flowing straw, there might be a 5-minute learning curve! Final Verdict: This is the Jeep of water bottles. It’s rugged, functional, and environmentally conscious. While it might cost a few dollars more than a grocery store sippy cup, the fact that it will likely last through multiple children makes it a much better value in the long run. Read more

This is such a great bottle, we have two sets. It is leak free. We have toddlers that throw them, drop them and leave them where ever. It is very clean and sanitary to use. We throw them on the top rack of the dishwasher. Easy to clean. My kids can grab on easy and hold them without fee like they are heavy. Read more

The best toddler water bottle I've found so far. We've had it for a few weeks now. The best feature of this water bottle is that it only has three parts, which we can confidently wash clean in the dishwasher. No hand washing! Leak free, apart from the occasional dripple of left over water from the upper spout section. Love it, will definitely buy again! Read more

I love Nalgene bottles as an adult so assumed I'd love a Nalgene bottle for my kid. The problem? Turns out it's really, really hard to get water out through that little straw. Did no one test these? Unfortunately we'd already washed these before trying them (as you do) so could not return them. As an alternative, highly recommend the Camelbak kid bottles which we've now used for the last two years! Read more

My youngest daughter used the Nalgene Grip-N-Gulp when she was a toddler which was many years ago. They were so great back then, we decided to buy them for our grandchildren. They are definitely one of the better kid-friendly water bottles out there. The fact that it’s made from 50% recycled plastic is a huge plus—we’re trying to be more eco-conscious. The bottle is very durable, easily surviving multiple drops and even a few throws. The sippy-style lid is leak-proof as advertised, which is a lifesaver when tossing it into a backpack or diaper bag. Also love that it’s dishwasher safe—makes cleanup a breeze. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the spout can be a little hard to clean thoroughly without a small brush, and it’s a bit bulky for very young kids to hold one-handed. Would definitely recommend for parents or grandparents looking for a tough, reusable, and sustainable option for kids on the go! Read more
