If you are looking for a water bottle that isn't expensive and will last you for years to come and is easy to fit in most bags this is the water bottle to get. I wanted to get a smaller water bottle that could fit about 500ml, this one can fit a little over that, and could fit in my backpack side sleeve. I used to have this big water bottle but it would fall out of the side pocket sometimes and I just didn't like that. This one fixes that problem. The narrow drinking hole makes it great for drinking water so all you water doesn't splash in your face, but it makes it a lot harder to clean. Most people don't clean their water bottle surprisingly. I'd recommend buying some brushes designed for cleaning water bottles just so you aren't sipping out of a gross bottle all year old. Overall, at this price and quality you can't go wrong. Read more

If you're in the market for a plastic waterbottle, Nalgene is a great brand. They're very tough, they seal tight (especially the narrow mouth variety), and they have useful measurement markings. Why should you buy the 16oz size in particular? * Comfortable in the hand * Unlikely to tip over * Adds little weight to your bag (or hand) It's really nice to have a small water bottle for all the times when more bottle would just get in the way. As long as you have water fountains or potable, palatable taps around, why carry more? Like any Nalgene water bottle, the external plastic is prone to dulling over time, reducing the transparency and shine of the bottle. Wear would be less apparent with an opaque bottle. The measurement markings also wear off. Short of extreme trauma, the only thing that can break on a Nalgene is the plastic loop connecting the top to the bottle. It's quite tough, but on larger bottles can break when the full bottle is routinely carried by the loop. With a smaller bottle, this is less likely. Why you should not buy this product: * You need a supply of water that lasts more than a few hours without refilling. * You want a non-plastic bottle. * You want an opaque bottle. Health note: Nalgene bottles, like most reusable plastic bottles today, are BPA-free. We probably don't know as much about the chemicals used to replace BPA as we do about BPA itself, though. (Note: I purchased this bottle in 2016. I am not aware of any subsequent changes in manufacturing, if any.) Read more

Liking it. I needed something that was safe to use. I had been reusing store bought water bottles. Probably not the healthiest move. The container is made of very firm plastic, more so than I thought it would be. Bottle is short and wide which makes it less likely to be knocked over. Make sure it will fit in your car bottle holder if that's your need. It does not fit in mine very well. I went for the small mouth variety as I think it is easier to drink from. Cap closes well with no leaks. My only concern is with how well it will do in the cold. If I leave this in the car with or without liquid will it crack? We will see. Read more

Nalgenes are fantastic water bottles- well made without breaking the bank. This is the perfect size for a kid and they are sturdy! These are so easy to loop through a book bag strap; the smaller mouth helps them drink without spilling everywhere. I’ve seen other reviews talk about how they are hard to clean, but all you need to do is put a little soap inside with a paper towel and some water, close the lid and shake it around. Rinse all the soap out and it’s good to go. Read more

Working outside for a living, I purchased this bottle to keep water with me during those hot summer days (any day really, hydration is a must any time of year) and it has proven to be well worth the cost. I've had this bottle for about a year and a half now and since purchase, its been dropped countless times on pavement, concrete, and other hard surfaces, and has dealt with the abuse like a champ. No leaks, no cracks, etc. After a year and a half of abuse, all the paint on the outside (measurements, Nalgene logo) has long since worn off and the outside of the bottle has been scratched to a dull blue from constant contact with dirt and getting tossed around. It may be beat up and looking ragged but it's still holding strong. The bottle fits perfectly in my cargo pants/shorts pockets and not only do I carry it with me at work, it also goes just about everywhere with me. Except for when its being cleaned, it stays in my car for when I'm out and about. With the rare exception, I haven't purchased bottled water in a long time, no more waste! A few minor issues and a reason I didn't give a five star review. First, as noted above, the paint has completely worn off the outside of the bottle. No big deal since I don't need to make any measurements but if I did, the bottle wouldn't be very useful. It would be better if those measurements were imprinted into the bottle itself so it doesn't wear off, at least not for a very long time. Second, its stated the bottle will fit in a standard cup holder which for my vehicle, is not true. It does fit in a pocket on my driver's side door though, so all is good and I still have easy access to it if I need to take a sip. In all, it's a good water bottle and as stated in the title, is tough as nails. I would recommend! Update: November 14, 2020 - my bottle rolled off a table this morning, hit a concrete floor and sadly, it busted open spilling my water all over the place. I had just filled it so maybe had it not been full, it may not have broken. A funeral service was attended by me, a small prayer said, and it was thrown in the trash. No stars taken off since I'm the bonehead who knocked it off the table and I still say these bottles are tough as nails. Ordered another one as I use(d) this bottle all the time. Read more
