Nalgene Tritan Wide Mouth BPA-Free Water Bottle

Nalgene has been manufacturing terrific water bottles for years, and I'm glad to see they are still producing a high-quality product. I purchased this water bottle as a gift to make it easier for them keep track of how much water they drink in a day, especially on the really hot days when you need to drink a lot more. Upon receiving the bottle and looking it over, it appears to be of a good quality and should last decades, if properly cared for. As it claims, there are no ill-smells in the bottle if water is left stagnant for a few days. The bottle is made from a tough material that appears to be able to stand up to a lot of use and abuse. I, personally, have used the same Nalgene bottle for over 11 years, and the only reason it doesn't look new is because I accidentally scrubbed it with the abrasive side of a sponge. Aside from that, it shows very little wear, despite the frequent use, and it looks like it will probably last another 11 years, maybe more. I am mentioning this unrelated bottle to exhibit the positive experience I've had with Nalgene over the years. These are fantastic bottles that are a must have, especially if you do a lot of walking, hiking, or camping. It's a great bottle to take to the gym, as well. Did I forget to mention that it's also made in the U.S.A.? I highly recommend this product for anyone and everyone. I'm sorry if this review sounds like I'm dolling out too much praise, but out of all the water-bottles I've owned, this one has lasted many years longer than others. This is my favorite water bottle ever!!! And this is coming from someone with an obsession, I mean "collection" of water bottles. I bought my first Nalgene over 15 years ago, it was a narrow mouth bottle and I stopped using it after some time because it wasn't convenient to clean, and didn't hold ice. When I first used a Nalgene wide mouth I kept spilling the contents of the bottle all over myself and wasn't too interested in purchasing one. Then along came the capcap from Humangear....YAY!!! I now have the narrow mouth I like drinking out of, with the cleaning and filling convenience of the wide mouth. It made me reconsider this wide mouth bottle. I am so glad I did!! This bottle is perfect! Not to mention this bottle is extremely durable, has markings to track fluid intake, doesn't taste like plastic or take on any smells/tastes of other liquids in it previously, has a large temperature range it is compatible with, it is compatible with various lids, BPA free, comes in all different colors and leakproof (I could go on and on). I wish my car had larger cup holders (or I could find something to convert the cup holders in the car to fit this bottle), but I wouldn't change a thing on this bottle. I ordered several nalgene bottles for my siblings and myself when we were training for a 5k. I customized the bottles to be our reward for finishing! I really like nalgene bottles! They are big and easy to fill with water and easy to fit lots of ice. I do sometimes spill water on myself when I drink out of it if I’m not careful, and they are too big to fit in a car cup holder (not that I would drink out of one in the car - I’d definitely spill on myself then). However, I think they are great for after a workout. I like that you can get a nice big drink quickly. These were great for customizing with vinyl too! The only complaint I have is that none of the bottles matched the picture exactly. I got pink with the pink lid, purple with a white lid, and orange with a white lid. All of the product photos had the “nalgene everyday” printed on the front, but when the bottles arrived none of them had that printed on it. The orange and purple bottles were just the standard nalgene logo and no words printed, and the pink one had the large nalgene “flower” printed on it. These differences didn’t really matter to me since I was going to be customizing the bottles, but if you’re looking for a specific design you should be aware that you might end up with something different. I have been searching for the right water bottle and have finally found it! Other water bottles leak, the caps come undone easily, or they just aren't durable. If those aren't problems, then you can't clean them properly because nothing will fit through the little mouths. These are not issues with this product! The wide mouth makes it easy to clean and easy to fill up without making a mess. It's one of the few water bottles I've had that I haven't had to freeze over night to keep it cold because it fits ice cubes through the top very nicely (although, freezing this Nalgene works great and keeps your drink cold all day long, too). I like that it is a screw top bottle that you can drink out of like a cup. I absolutely hate the tops that you have to suck to get anything out of them. The lid also has loop on it where you can clip it to a bag so it doesn't get lost. It's big enough and bright enough, depending on what color you get, so you can always find it. The marks on the side are great for knowing how much liquid you are consuming in a day. It keeps me very concious. All in all, great product, highly recommended! The only problem I had was with shipping. They could use less packaging. The box was super huge and had a bunch of giant bubble wrap in it. I think it was a little unnecessary. Read more
