I’ve had this hairdryer for about 4 years now (probably longer). This is the best hairdryer on the market. I won’t use anything else. It doesn’t burn my hair or leave it frizzy and untamed. It dries my hair fast and leaves it manageable. My mother used it when we were on a family vacation and she loved it. Couldn’t stop talking about how much she loved how her hair felt and how it didn’t take her forever to dry her hair. So I purchased one for her for Christmas. She was so happy. This is my second BaByliss dryer like this one bc I dropped and broke the first one. I'm a hair stylist and this dryer has been my favorite so far and it's definitely worth the price. My co-worker borrowed it and then ordered one immediately for herself. Its slightly on the heavy side but much quicker at drying hair. It did have the burning smell the first time I used it but it didn't last long and I'm pretty sure the first one did the exact same thing. It was recommended to me by my hair stylist. I've only used whatever $20 hair dryers before. This one has a number of nice qualities I've learnt to appreciate: 1. Much stronger flow and the ability to reduce it. 2. Two heating settings allow me to use Med heat with High flow drying my hair more gently. After a number of uses I've noticed my hair is less brittle and burnt. My hair is visibly shinier and smoother. 3. For whatever reason it feels like my hair hold volume better after drying. 4. The hairdryer arrived after a 2-day delay, which caused me a lot of inconvenience (since I was out of town when it arrived and had to find someone to pick up the package before it was stolen by porch pirates). When I opened the outer bag, the box inside was torn in several places, was unsealed, and had CLEARLY been opened; the dryer, concentrators and instructions were unwrapped and loose in the box, the instructions (which are usually enclosed in a bag or wrapping but weren't) appeared to have gotten wet and then dried out and were crumpled and ripped, and there was no plastic cover on the plug prongs (as is common on brand-new appliances). It was obvious that this was NOT a brand-new dryer, and that the package had been opened, and the dryer might even have been used before being returned and then shipped to me. I should have been informed that it was an "opened box" and should not have had to pay full price. I will probably keep the hairdryer rather than deal with exchanging it, but I'm not happy about the situation and think that a partial refund is appropriate. For a hairdryer this expensive, I expect it to be new and packed in a pristine, sealed box. Read more
