Fantastic floss. It’s a little thicker than store bought floss. But I got use to it and I’m so happy we’re throwing away less plastic. I know it’s only floss, but every little bit helps. The metal case is quite durable and compact for travel. Read more
Great alternative to plastic floss, some of which use forever chemicals as lubricating agents. This brand is not quite as sturdy as another I have used, but overall it works well. Read more
For environmental reasons, I’m trying to reduce my use of synthetics, so I searched for silk floss like this one (I know buying silk floss won’t save the planet, but it makes me feel better). I like the compact dispenser and the resilience of this floss. It doesn’t shred during use, but the thread is slightly too thick to move comfortably between my teeth that are tightly spaced. That’s the only reason I wouldn’t order this floss again. It’s made of multiple fine silk fibers twisted together, so it would be better for me if it was a few fibers lighter. Update: With growing public awareness and concern about product safety, I searched online for information about where this floss is made. Although Bambaw is based in Belgium, I found out their floss is made in China. I was afraid there might be harmful chemicals in it, like PTFEs, which are present in certain kinds of floss (including many favorite brands), as well as in many products and food from China. PTFEs have long-term effects on health. So, I contacted Bambaw and asked them directly, and their answer made me believe that their floss is safe. They replied as follows: “While some of our products, such as our dental floss, are manufactured in China and Indonesia, we take rigorous steps to ensure that every item meets high European safety and quality standards. Our production partners are selected based on their strong social and environmental practices, and we work closely with them to maintain consistent oversight. To guarantee the safety of our products, we conduct independent third-party testing. This includes: *Adherence to EU food-contact safety regulations Thorough checks for toxic chemicals and synthetic substances (such as PTFE) *Use of natural and safe materials throughout the product range For dental floss specifically, we ensure it is free from harmful substances, and manufactured in a way that aligns with our sustainability values. We believe in full transparency and are always happy to provide more detailed information about specific certifications or test reports—feel free to reach out if you'd like more on that.” Read more
I am a registered dental hygienist. I was looking for a floss that did not contain forever chemicals which is why I chose this floss to try. Unfortunately, this floss is extremely difficult to use. I struggled to get the floss between my teeth, and the floss broke multiple times while I tried to use it. I have never had these issues with any other floss I have used. I do not recommend this floss. Read more
Breaks at least every other time. Have to get another strand, sometimes three, before finishing. If you teeth don't touch I'm sure you'll love it! My teeth have tight contacts. Not real tight, there's no problem with any kind of regular floss or dental tape. Still, I want to get away from plastic floss. For lots of good reasons. Like it never degrades. Animals get it, die from choking or strangling after getting tangled in it. Birds making a nest from it, for instance. Silk is safer all around. I'm thinking of buying a spool of organic silk thread. Thread comes with a specified thickness. Why doesn't floss? Read more
I use dental floss all the time this one is nice but breaks easily when you are using it. Read more
I've tried other silk floss brands, but this has been my favorite so far. It frays less than other brands I've used, and I haven't had any pieces break. The metal container is also a nice touch, as I worry about the glass containers from other brands breaking Read more
