Great inexpensive sleeping bag

For the price this is an excellent sleeping bag. I’m a very warm sleeper, so if you are a cold sleeper I might not be able to give good advice, but did end up using this when it froze overnight (while tent camping) and while I do sleep in my clothes on hikes where it may get cold, I was perfectly comfortable. I have a large range of bags (synthetic, mil surp, and a really expensive custom down quilt for snow camping) and this is my favorite all around. It packs small, it doesn’t weigh as much as my other bags (way less than synthetic), and the square shape is really versatile. I still use other bags from time to time, but this really hits a perfect sweet spot for balancing warmth, weight, and packability. It also is really inexpensive compared to my other bags so I don’t worry about going into rough conditions with it. Overall, very surprised how good it has been. Read more

Best budget down bag ever

Very pleased with this bag. It’s lightweight and packs down small, great for backpacking. It fully opens flat and works great as a quilt on the couch or wherever it’s needed. The down seems to be good quality. So far no prickly feathers have poked me through the material, leading me to believe it’s close to pure down with little to no feathers at all. For the price, I can’t imagine a better mild weather/ three season sleeping bag. Perfect for beginner campers, kids, or even more experienced backpackers looking for a capable, low budget, high performing bag. Read more

Great Bag

We got the 32 degree one because the 40 degree one just didn't really make sense to get. It is super comfortable and super warm in my opinion. Lots of room if you are a side sleeper like me! Can't beat it for the price and weight (~1.7lb) to warmth and comfort ratio in my opinion. Love that there is slightly more padding on the top part than the bottom part too, since once you are laying on it the bottom of any sleeping bag gets too compressed to offer much insultation/R-value). On warmer nights I use it like a quilt, basically just half zip it so the bottom is zipped and the top just drapes over me, it's plenty wide that it doesn't come up on the sides but is easy for me to stick an arm or leg out if I'm hot) We have the One bag from North Face, and although they are super warm, they are HEAVY! I also don't LOVE the mummy style of it, it is great for COLD, but anything over 35 degrees and I start to feel trapped and hot but if I unzip partially then it doesn't stay on me.) Still planning to use that bag for colder nights, but this is great down until 37-40 degrees in my opinion. ONLY complaint is that I am SHORT, and this bag is soo long, I wish they would have had a short or even at least a regular length one, the warmer weather one is shorter, but this one is super long so I have a bunch of dead empty space on the bottom by my feet. Kind of feel like I could save a couple ounces of weight if it was shorter too. Optional quilt straps would be nice also in my opinion, but since it isn't a true quilt, I feel like I can't really complain about it! (ha) Would definitely buy again and would definitely recommend to buy to anyone looking for a great spacious bag, especially for the price point! Read more

It's good.

Okay, before I get started I have to run through some items. I'm seeing a lot of reviews of this that are saying it's bad by people who don't know how to use or take care of a down sleeping bag. I want to clarify some things. You MUST keep this thing out of the pack sack when it's not being used. When you first get it it could take 2+ weeks before it fully fluffs up. If you put it in a dryer with no heat and a couple of tennis balls it will fluff up fast. But still, never store a down sleeping bag in a stuff sack. That will just keep the filling crushed down and the bag won't be as effective when you want to use it. All winter sleeping bag temperature ratings are based on a person wearing winter gear. So if you are have a sleeping bag that is rated for 0 degrees F then that rating is based on if you are wearing a winter coat, long underwear, socks or foot warmers, etc. If you want a sleeping bag to perform at the listed rating, then dress for that rating. You can't expect a 0 degree bag to be very good if you want to sleep in your underwear only in 0 degree temps. That being said here's what I found out about this bag. I have the 32 degree bag. I dressed for cold weather. It kept me warm at about 20 degrees F. I'm 6'02" and I had plenty of bag to pull up around my shoulders. I'm 295 pounds and this bag was big enough, even though it doesn't look like it. This bag is not a $300 bag. The construction is okay. Be careful when operating the zipper and don't force anything and you should be fine. I like this bag because it's so light but still effective. Make sure to use a sleeping bag liner. Especially with down bags. It will help to boost the wamth rating but it will also keep you from scratching the inside of the bag or getting it dirty. Cleaning down bags is not fun and I would rather put a ilner in one. Read more
