I loved the way this mat folds into a compact square. I used it on a yoga trip where classes were often held outdoors, and it was a great convenience that when the ground got it dusty on the underside, that side folds inward, so it doesn't soil the mat's upper surface (or the suitcase you store it in). As others noted, it's not the thickest mat around, but I found I could double it up under my knees for poses like Camel, and it worked just fine. If you have an old dog falling and slipping, these are great traction aids. We covered our tile with them. Machine washed on gentle cycle or hosed down outside after accidents. They won’t last forever and will get a bit torn up from nails, but worth the money and super helpful for the purpose we had. Read more

I stretch each morning and evening on the advice of my PT and use a yoga mat for comfort and to avoid lying directly on the floor when doing so. When traveling by air it's always been a pain to bring my rolled up yoga mat, often necessitating a larger or additional suitcase. This folding mat is compact and fit easily inside a 2 gallon zip lock bag for protection. The other advantage of the folding mat is that you can keep the floor-side down side on the outside, instead of rolling it onto the side you lay on so you don't have to clean both sides every use as long as you pay attention to how you lay it down each time. There's a logo on only one side, so that's easy to keep track of. It's thin (as advertised) and I doubt it would hold up well to exercise with sneakers on it, but for anything socks/bare feet it should give you a decent amount of use before deteriorating. Although the mat is good quality, it's still a little too bulky to take in a carry-on. It does work in a duffle bag that has a little more room. I find I've only used it once, or when I need an extra yoga mat for a visiting friend. Read more

I’ve brought this to a couple of meditation retreats in my carry-on luggage. Very easy to unfold and fold up. I’m glad to have it rather than use communal mats. Plus, once it’s folded up I can use it as a cushion to sit on too as needed. Read more
