10 types of collagen in bioavailable peptide form, with preservatives I don't prefer.

charlesJanuary 30, 2026

Collagen supplements generally come in easy to mix powders. This is a 16 oz. liquid. Most collagen supplements are from bovine derived collagen types I and III, with the main benefits relating to hair, skin and nails. This contains "Multi Collagen Advanced Biopeptides". It is derived from grassfed bovine peptides, fish collagen peptides, chicken collagen peptides and eggshell membrane collagen peptides. Providing a much wider range of collagen types, benefiting more than mostly hair, skin and nails. For example, the joint benefits of type II. It contain types I, II, III, IV, V, VII, VIII, X, XII and XXII collagen. For me, highly preferential. And, while some collagen supplements are in peptide form, most aren't. Collagen in peptide form, like this product, have better bioavailability. This also contains vitamin B7, biotin. With related and other benefits. Other ingredients are demineralized water, organic sugar, citric acid, natural flavor, potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate and organic stevia extract. While preservatives are necessary to preserve this, I am not a fan of all of those included. The citric acid is safe, and adds to the flavor. And, while potassium sorbate and sodium benzoate are used in a lot of foods, there are some concerns. Each 1 tablespoon serving, the daily suggested use, provides 3 grams of collagen. And 2500 mcg. of biotin. Both within the commonly used amounts. Neocell is probably the most well known brand of collagen, so I trust the quality and that it contains what they indicate. It contains 32 servings, with one serving per day as the suggested use. Collagen peptides from the multiple sources provides the range of collagen types I want, and better bioavailability. And, the biotin included in some collagen supplements is a plus. The negative is using potassium sorbate and sodium benzoate. I would strongly prefer they were not included, although the amount you are getting in a tablespoon is small. The sugar is organic, and only amounts to 1 gm. per servings. As a stevia user for over 30 years, I would prefer they just used stevia. The fruit punch, with some tang from the citric acid, tastes okay. If it wasn't for some of the preservatives they use, I would give it 5 stars. Read more

Tasty, quality supplement from a reputable brand, but the total collagen amount is relatively low.

Lucy_KFebruary 1, 2026

I take collagen daily because natural collagen production slows with age, which affects skin elasticity and joint comfort. Over the years, I’ve tried many collagen supplements from different brands. This is the fourth time I’m using a multi-collagen supplement from NeoCell. In the past, I used their 10-collagen formula in caplets, pills, and tablets. I’ve been satisfied with the results I’ve seen in my hair, skin, and nails, so I was curious to see how the liquid version would compare. This NeoCell supplement combines 10 collagen types sourced from bovine, fish, chicken, and eggshell membrane. I wish the label listed the specific amounts or proportions of each source or collagen type. One serving, which is one tablespoon or 15 ml, provides 3 grams of collagen, so each teaspoon or 5 ml contains 1 gram. An effective daily collagen intake usually ranges from about 2.5 to 15 grams, so this serving is on the lower end. Since it’s a liquid, it’s easy to adjust the amount to match your needs. I usually take around 6 grams per day, as I’ve found this dose works best for my age and health. At that dosage, the bottle will last me about 16 servings rather than the stated 32 servings of 3 grams. It also contains 2,500 mcg of biotin, which is 8,333 percent of the daily value. That may look high at first, but biotin doses for hair support commonly range from 2,500 to 10,000 mcg per day, so this amount is still within a safe range. Since biotin is water-soluble, excess amounts are typically flushed out through urine. This liquid collagen has a bright, tangy smell and taste. I can’t detect any hint of the flavor typical of collagen powders or tablets. It is quite tasty, and I take it directly from a tablespoon without mixing it into any other liquid, about 30–40 minutes before eating. The formula also includes biotin, which is best taken before or with meals. The supplement uses multi-collagen bio-peptides that are enzymatically simplified for better absorption, so it should remain effective even if taken with food. I haven’t experienced any discomfort or digestive issues since I started using it. The liquid form is easier for me to take than pills or tablets. To get the same 3 grams of collagen from capsules, you’d typically need around six capsules or three tablets. It’s also quicker than mixing collagen powder into drinks. Liquid formulas may absorb more efficiently as well. Since I already take many supplements in tablet form, using a liquid helps reduce the overall number of pills I need to take. NeoCell is a well-known brand with a wide range of collagen supplements, and the quality has been consistently high in my experience. I didn’t expect dramatic changes from this product, since I already take collagen and biotin regularly. I use it mainly to maintain the results I already have. This liquid collagen version is more expensive than the same NeoCell multi-collagen in other forms, which provide much more collagen per container at a comparable price, but it includes a high dose of biotin, which adds some value. Overall, the main advantage of this formula is convenience rather than collagen amount or lower cost. Read more
