Just me, or are the seats in the newer planes getting more uncomfortable? This lightweight foldable seat cushion saves my back, especially on long flights. I’d lost my previous one, and I really like the cushioning of this model. It feels more like a gel mattress topper, and doesn’t retain heat. This portable and foldable gel seat cushion seems basically comfortable, although it ought to have a thicker gel pad for more satisfactory support, since the gel pad included provides minimal support. It seems well built and has an appropriate firmness in spite of its thinner gel pad. Its sized correctly for most on the on-the-go activities. This will save your butt cheeks on a long flight. Squishy enough to be comfy, firm enough to hold its structure. There are some drawbacks that are likely unavoidable - as compact as it is, it still can take up quite a bit of space in your backpack and it's also heavy. Not super heavy, but the kind of heavy you get by carrying something over time and distance. It folds, which is actually a plus, but it doesn't stay folded - there's no clasp, snap, hook & loop closure, or velcro. Your best bet is to hold it by the 2 handles to keep the halves folded together. I find myself choosing between packing this and packing my neck pillow. Having both is just a lot of added bulk in your personal item. It depends on what you want to tolerate - stiff neck or sore tail. Most recently, I wanted to protect my tail and it definitely supported my backside. The price is great compared to one of those inflatable ones I saw in social media ads. I assume an inflatable one would be much lighter to carry but you'd have to contend with inflating and deflating it every time. Kind of a hassle. This one is ready to go and it feels durable. The seat cushion folds up nicely and fit easily in my carry on bag. It does not cover the entire plane seat but enough to it's job. It's light weight and appears to be well made.
