Size reference: true-to-size for my US women's 7.5, average width foot. Style: I ordered the NEWBELLA chunky heel booties because I loved the patent leather detail on the pointed toe. It looks even better in person! Very dressy and adds something extra to my outfit and makes a statement for sure. There is no zipper or laces. The shaft is a stretchy material that feels a bit velvety. Simply slip in like a sock and go. I could wear these to work, date night, girls' night, and pretty much anywhere. Could be dressed down with jeans and a nice top but I have no interest and dressing these puppies down. Pairs well with slacks and dresses. Comfort: I can be bit a of shoe snob and have my preferred brands for comfort. Having said that, I own over 300 pairs of shoes so I can overlook comfort if the style is catching enough and the price reasonable. The NEWBELLA booties feel like every other import no-brand. Reasonably comfortable but not enough to be a favorite. The insole has a little cushion and the block heels are easy to walk in. However, the bottom sole is pretty thin and does not offer much impact cushion. Recommendation: Love the way the look, but think they are currently priced too high ($59.99 at the time of this review) for what is clearly a mid-grade import quality. $39.99 would be the max in my opinion. These are really cool boots! They're the perfect height, both for the heel and for where the top of the boot hits (about 2 inches above my ankle bone). They're easy to get off and on with the stretchy fabric and the insole is padded. It's not particularly thick padding, but it's consistent from heel to toe. I feel like I could have sized up from a 6.5 to a 7 for more room in the toes--these are really pointy and it might have been better to have a little wiggle room, but they're still comfortable enough. I love patent leather but I don't usually like an entire shoe made out of it (that's a little TOO much shiny for me), so these fit the bill perfectly. I've been seeing a lot of boots like these worn with skirts, so now I'm inspired to break out of the pants rut for fall. I have wide feet with very pronounced [and painful] bunions, so I was concerned the narrow front of these booties might not accommodate my feet. But the majority of the upper is made of a stretchy faux-suede that conforms perfectly to the contours of my foot and the asymmetric bit in the front (made of hard patent leather) actually sits well forward of my bunions.
