The fit is loose and airy. So, between the material and the fit, they are really comfortable. They have two front pockets and an elastic waist. These shorts are true to size. I ordered large quite some time ago and am now a small to medium. They should fit me so loosely as they do in the images. For reference, I am 5'7", and have a 28" waist.
