Super light yet the sole has a good strong feel. Good contact with rocks and difficult terrine they are sharp. Look appears strong and capable and the extra hight makes them stable and protective. The back of the sole sticks out and that makes the shore appear bigger. They are roomy and comfortable and Ian yet to use them for a year or so before making any more comments. I wanted to like these, but ended up returning them. They were extremely rigid and uncomfortable. To make matters worse, they run a half to one size smaller than what is advertised. I only wear Nike shoes because I have narrow feet and they are the only brand of shoes that consistently fit me right….except for these. Not sure why the huge variance from other Nike shoes. I like the shoe but it really runs small. I wear 10.5 to 11 depending on the brand. For Nike I wear 11US. I bought these in 11.5 and my toe was right to the end of the shoe. I could not wear them for more than 10 minutes. So I had to buy a size 12US. They fit a bit better, could have even gone a half size bigger for more comfort. The problem with that is they make your foot look so big. Read more

We live in the mountains and experience the seasons so I wanted him to have a pair that he could wear year-round, from muddy hiking trails during the mild months to sleet and snow during the cold months.
