i have been searching high and wide for a shoe that is comfortable with a super wide toe box. i never considered myself to have wide feet, even though it runs in my family. but after some research, i decided to search for a shoe in my normal size that was x-wide. i stay day and night in crocs, but to my surprise, i was informed by my new podiatrist that my feet are EXTREMELY flat and i would need to find a new shoe. i had a pair of new balances that were just wide and i hadnt worn them in a year, but the toe box felt so much narrower than i expected! thus began the search. i tried $196 hokas, and they were HORRIBLE. after reading some of the reviews, i decided to give these a try. they are AMAZING. the toe box is so wide that it feels damn near like a barefoot shoe minus the whole barefoot shoe look, if you get what i mean. they feel great on my feet, and my favorite color is pink, so i looked for a long time for a GOOD shoe with some pink detailing, lol. the shoe itself isnt too wide but the large toe box was something i wasnt willing to negotiate on. i switched the insoles with insoles made for flat feet and these are wonderful. i have fibromyalgia and now that i know i also have foot issues, these have truly been comfortable. ive been wearing them inside on a test run and they are AMAZING. i live in nyc, with lots of concrete and subway steps, so i will update as SOON as i wear them outside! but so far, NO Complaints from me, and i am very hard to please. im not sure how durable they are but they are so comfortable i hope that they last a long time. BUY THEM!!! EDIT- its been 2 months of wearing them and its amazing! my toes dont feel cramped and i feel like my foot health has been improving. these also hold up well in the wash. ive washed them maybe 3-4 times now (its an all white shoe, what do you expect lol) and i love them. i will say if you wash even with bleach and industrial detergent the dirt is a bit hard to get off. you may have to do some manual scrubbing. also, the holes where the laces go at the top feels a little cheap but it doesnt bother me at all. i love the cushioning and it has held up well for my busy nyc lifestyle. i wish these were waterproof because its been kind of rainy and i can DEFINITELY feel the difference between this comfortable sneaker with a wide toe box when i wear my rain/snow boots. and the price point!! only $36 for these is a STEAL! my left foot is a bit bigger than my right and my pinky toe nail rubs slightly so i may buy another pair in a half size up.
