Flashlights everywhere in my home for safety. This one is big and old enough to require 4 D size ! As described, these re-chargeable D NIMH batteries arrived charged (but just barely). Yes, I tested. Used my NIMH to charge completely but only registered to the midrange of GOOD. Hmm? Happy to say. Communication with the vendor assured me to keep them. I will check quarterly for "will slow drainage" and decide within the year they gave me to keep or return. Good support. Love having my big adjustable flashlight all fitted up for any emergencies. Needed to find some C batteries and wanted rechargeable ones. These are doing the job well for my toddler's toy vacuum! She only uses it from time to time so it seems to last a long time, no complaints so far. Read more
I bought 2 packs of 8 batteries (which works out as $1.25 per battery). They all work, but the capacity is not as advertised. The average capacity of the batteries was around 2200mAh, with the lowest around 2000mAh and only one battery out of 16 actually testing at or higher than 2800mAh. This might be fine for your situation and at this price point, but other more expensive brands deliver their advertised capacity in a tighter spread so this might be one of the times when paying a little more for quality is worth it. For reference: I used a charger with a test mode to measure the capacity (an Lii-600). Test mode charges, discharges, and finally charges again at 500ma measuring the total mAh in and out. Read more
I have a decorative wall clock that uses (and burns through) C batteries. Plus, 2 old AM/FM/Shortwave radios, separate power packs for a walkman-type device and a flash unit, and multiple flashlights - all using Cs. So, these NiMH C batteries are a potential cost saver. All the devices are slightly-to-moderately voltage sensitive. However, that's offset by the flatter NiMH voltage-discharge curve compared to alkalines. Initially, the walkman device is just slightly flat in tone, and the flash unit is not quite as powerful based on F-stop/shutter speed settings. However, over time, that flatter voltage-discharge curve results in more stable and consistent performance than with alkaline batteries. Ditto for the clock not slowing and the flashlights not dimming as noticeably. Check your devices to see if they can use NiMH in place of alkaline batteries (one of my 2 flash units can't). I tested these with 2 different analyzer/chargers - "A" and an Opus. "A" gave these results in mAH: 5406 5353 5272 5220. Opus gave this: 5629 5841 5865 6003 for the same battery. I tested "A" with 400mA charging rate; Opus, with 500mA. the difference die to limitations of the chargers. Clearly, the claimed 5000mAH capacity is easily met. The attached photo shows one of the test runs. NiMH batteries don't like high charging rates. Those will shorten battery life and capacity. The Opus device is newer than "A", and always tests higher, though some NiMH will increase in capacity when initial charge cycles are slow. Generally, NiMH batteries should be charged at 0.1-0.2C where C is the capacity of the battery and 0.1 and 0.2 are percentages of capacity. So, 10% or 20% of 5000, or 500mA/1000mA. The first few charge/discharge cycles should be at 0.1 (or 10%) to maximize capacity and life. Read more

These seem to be standard rechargeable batteries. The quality seems as good as the big name brands. You get 4 to a package which means this is a good value. It is too soon for me to be able to comment on their lifespan, as I have not yet used them long enoigh to need a recharge. Read more
