This is a very bright, slim, uncomplicated light. You have your choice of several color temperatures, from very warm to very cool. The diffusion is good -- the light isn't mostly straight down -- but it's still best for larger rooms and higher ceilings, unless you need extremely strong illumination. The instructions really aren't bad, which is way above average, and it thoughtfully includes a simple mounting bracket and a cable so you can hang the light before you connect the wiring. The only issue is that lights like this assume you have the supply and neutral tucked well into the ceiling box and that you use small wire nuts or similar. There's a small depression on the back of the light to accommodate the wiring that sticks out of the ceiling, but if you have too much wire or use large connectors, you will be wrestling with crushing it all in place as you put the light on the bracket. You can make this easier by using spacers (washers, shims, whatever) to hang the bracket slightly below the ceiling, but it can be a pain. We did get it installed in under half an hour, though, and it has a terrific unobtrusive look. Very bright, silent, instant on and off. If it lasts five years, it's a real bargain. So far, so good. Just received the box of 6 12” white led ceiling lights. I tested all 6 and they work fine out of the box. That includes the 5 switch settings for the CCT you prefer (yellow to White hot). Fixtures were packed well with no damage in shipment and each light had an install packet of screws and wire nuts. The install trick will be getting the plastic plate attached to the junction box and the wires tucked into the box as the light is pushed up and twist locked into place. Each light has a 6” wire tether or lanyard that you can attach to the junction box that will suspend the light fixture while you connect the electrical wires. Nice helpful feature. No green ground wire on the light fixture because the fixture is 100% plastic. Don’t know how long the fixtures will work but the price was right. I just installed the first of 6 of these led lights. The install was easier than I thought it would be. It took 15 minutes to remove the old fixture and put up the new one. The 6” wire lanyard is a very nice installation aid. Read more
