The Noble Formula 1% Pyrithione Zinc Soap Bar with Sunflower Oil, Shea Butter & Turmeric is a thoughtfully formulated cleansing bar designed for use on the face, body, and scalp, particularly for people with sensitive, acne-prone, eczema-prone, or redness-prone skin. This 3.25 oz vegan bar, handmade in the USA by a veteran-owned small business, focuses on gentle cleansing without stripping the skin. The formula contains 1% Pyrithione Zinc (ZnP), a milder strength that helps cleanse away excess oil, flakes, and buildup while being more suitable for sensitive skin. It’s paired with sunflower oil and shea butter for hydration and barrier support. The addition of turmeric is often appreciated in skincare for its antioxidant properties and potential to improve the look of uneven tone and dullness. Other ingredients like castor oil, oatmeal, chamomile, and carrot help support skin comfort during cleansing. From my personal experience, this soap worked very well. Right after using it, my skin felt hydrated, smoother, and noticeably less itchy, which is exactly what I want in a gentle cleansing bar. I used it with a lightly abrasive wash towel, which created a nice lather and gave a mild exfoliating effect while also helping the bar last longer and preventing product waste. I also try to keep my time under water fairly short and avoid overly hot water, which helps prevent drying out my skin—especially during the colder months. This soap has become a helpful addition to my winter skincare routine. After showering, I follow up with Cetaphil cream, and the combination leaves my skin happy, comfortable, and well hydrated. Another thing I appreciate is that the soap is fragrance-free and made in the USA, which is a big plus for those who prefer simpler formulations. I do still use a separate soap for the few areas of the body that tend to get dirtier or smellier, but for the rest of my body this bar works beautifully. The ingredients were familiar; I’d ordered similar items before. Turmeric does wonders for fading dark spots and brightening the skin, while shea butter provides great moisture and conditioning. Both are excellent anti-inflammatories. I wanted to see how Noble Formula Soap Bar performed in comparison to the others, so I placed an order. I removed the soap bar from the box and immediately noticed that I detected virtually no scent. I know some are sensitive to fragrances, while others simply prefer not to have added perfumes. This soap would be very pleasing to anyone in either of those groups. I don’t try to avoid scented products, in fact I enjoy pleasantly fragranced skin care items, but fragrance isn’t necessary. I’m fine either way. The soap bar is about the same size as other facial soaps I’ve used. That’s about half the size of an average sized bath soap. It’s a good size for facial cleaning. It’s easy to hold. Not a lot of soap is needed per washing, so this little bar will last a long time. I followed the instructions on the box- apply to damp skin and massage for at least a minute or so. The soap does produce a lather, but it’s not a rich, thick lather. It rinses off very well leaving no trace of residue behind. My face felt very clean. That’s not always easy to accomplish. I have combination oily/normal skin. I sometimes have to go over the T-zone area more than once to completely remove the excess oil. I liked that I was able to achieve a clean face without multiple cleanings, but the product may have stripped my skin a little too much. My face had a tight, somewhat dry feel afterwards. I definitely needed to apply a moisturizing serum or cream. This surprised me. With all of the nourishing oils this soap contains (olive, shea butter, palm kernel, castor, vitamin E) plus the soothing chamomile, I didn’t expect this effect. If it did this to my oilier skin, I’m not sure those with dry skin would do that well with it. The box says that daily use is optimal, but to use at least twice per week. I think this cleanser will work better for me using it only twice per week. I believe it will work great as a kind of “clarifying” cleanser but would be too much for my skin should I use it daily. (I don’t think I’d have any issues if I used it on the rest of my body. I only used it on my face.) It didn’t cause any skin irritation. This may not have been exactly what I expected but I believe it’s a good product. It’s composed of all natural ingredients and leaves out the harmful substances found in many skincare products. It’s made in the USA by a small veteran owned business. The soap is handcrafted and not tested on animals. Cruelty-free is important to me. I believe this is going to work very well for me if used in conjunction with moisturizing products. ****About me: Integrity is very important to me. A Passing Lady—March 16, 2026
I have very sensitive skin and pretty much all the problems it says that it'll help. I was skeptical, and I haven't used a bar soap in a while that I haven't made myself. I have to use things with no fragrance and soaps tend to be too harsh for my skin. It seemed to calm my acne down, which I suspect are fungal acne rather than bacterial, so I thought this should help. And notably it didn't dry me out too much. The acne's on my neck, and that's where I usually break out with psoriasis rashes if I use anything too harsh. If you have any of these conditions and can talk to a dermatologist, that's obviously best, but I'm in my 40s and I've seen many over the years. Plus, they take about a year for me to get an appointment with, so a lot of the time, treatments at home are what I have to do, since I have a variety of skin problems and can't just take something by mouth to cure any one of them. The bar is much smaller than I was expecting, but it lathers up very well and doesn't shrink too much after using it. I would absolutely buy this again. Full marks on this. Has that nice soap smell of a soap that doesn't have fragrances added, it's pretty much perfect. I notice it says on the package for all skin types. I do have combination skin, where for the most part I'm oily, but I also dry out really easy. If you want to just use it as a bar soap, it has a nice, natural exfoliating texture to it, and it is very pleasant. Read more
