1. Functionality: Works very well for my use. So far, I've used it twice on my 2012 Honda Civic when the temp was -10F and my car wouldn't start. Plug it in, light was chasing, started the engine, boom, works like a charm. 2. Jump Capability: Since I've only used it twice, and on my 2012 Civic, small car, I don't really know how well it works with SUVs & Trucks, but I would hope it work. Will update later if I use it to help out friend's cars. 3. Battery Life: Fully charged, used it twice within two months, drained the battery to half or so, if I remembered correctly. So, I would say you could use it to jump start about 4-5 small cars. Not sure about bigger cars. 4. Ease of use: VERY VERY easy to use. Self-explanatory. Make sure you read up on it or watch video on YouTube on how it work, especially if the battery is completely dead and the light is not chasing and you have to use the "Override" mode. 5. Compactness: VERY VERY compact. I put in my work backpack and bring it with my to work every day in case my car or a friend/coworker's car broke down due to battery drain or something. Or in the sever cold weather of -10F or below and car doesn't start. Overall, I would say it's very useful. Choose your own model and go down if you have to to save money. I bought the NOCO Boost X GBX55 1750A 12V model because I want it to be at least strong enough for my Tundra. Read more

Back Ground: I bought this yesterday because I had a car with a battery so dead, not even the warning alarms sounded when I got in. It had been dead for a couple of months. Now, I have a regular jumper which is a Li-Ion battery in a case. I had hooked it up, and let it sit for a minute. No Luck. Tried a long time charger, no luck. Damn, then I recalled my sister who lives in the next town over had a jumper she swore. I called, she came over. At first we did have to recharge her jumper, and it took all of like 5 minutes, and we go out to the car, hook it up. She looks at her watch and says Wait one minute. Then she tells me to go start the car. I am like "You're joking me?" Nope, so I got in the car, (still no sounds) put the key in, (Still no sounds) and then I turn the key. It was like that battery had never been dead. Instant on, everything as the engine rolled over and started on the first turn of the key. Now that alone is worthy of praise but then I asked her "how long do I need to keep the car running, she "I don't, I only to jump once in a while." So the Next morning I come out, and go to the car and guess what. It still started like it was never dead. Two other jumper boxes failed completely to even get the warning bells and dashboard to light up. This one, jumped the car and it runs like it near had a bad battery. Ergo, while I didn't use my box (as I didn't one) I used hers, and she has had for a couple of years and it has never failed her. Also a friend of hers, who originally owned it, gave it to her and he bought the one that can Jump Start a dead diesel engine battery. Note: There are more jumpers all over the place, even by this company, so if you have a bigger vehicle, check the numbers and get one for your car or bigger. I have seen Tow Truck Drivers carry a similar one, and it jumped a Chrysler 200 that has been dead for months due the electrical short that kept draining. Not Cheap, but also with that kind reliability, you don't have to worry about being stuck in the middle of nowwhere, and as bonus it will jump 20 cars on a single full charging itself. Read more

Started my 2011 Ford F150 Lariat Super Crew v8 5.0 without issue. Battery was completely dead. I did not check voltage but no lights on entry and no power locks. Connected my fully charged Noco that has been in the vehicle for 2-3 months. Power on. Counted to 40. Truck started as if it was fully charged. -I have about (12) Noco products. None of them have cause me issue or hesitation. The Noco GB40 took some extra work to start the truck in the past. It works well on my V8 4.6, my v6 3.5 and my v6 3.0. The 5.0 is just a little larger and seemed to tax the GB40. First (2) of these specific units were bought from a refurbished. Both were dead on arrival. Bought a new unit. Brand new. No issues. This unit is rugged and well built, as it should be for the premium price. I've had my GBX55 for over 1.5 years and have never needed to use it, twice I've checked on the booster and found that it was half way discharged, and would put it on charge to top off. Well today the car battery was almost dead and my GBX55 let me down. It was again at half charge and would not jump the battery and when I put it on to charge, it displayed an error related to the charging circuit. Hat's off to customer service who responded quickly to my emails and being out of warranty, they offered me a 35% discount on my purchase of a new booster. But I had to respectfully decline, I never had to use my booster and it let me down when I needed it. I have no trust in NOCO boosters, what's to say that the next booster will not let me down in the same way, just when you need it. At the premium price they charge, I would have expected better life and reliability. I should have bought another Schumacher; the one I have currently, I've had for around 7 years and has always held its charge and has never let me down. It's bigger and bulky, but I'm sure they make a comparable one to the GBX55. And for the price, the TOPDON JS3000 looks to be a better value for the money!! Read more

This has saved my bacon and my kids bacon too many times to count. Its intuitive, fast to charge, and doubles as a laptop/tablet/phone power battery. About the only thing I didn't like was the fabric pouch case, but there are several custom fit cases on Amazon for this model. These are so much better than the old bulky lead-acid jump packs. Fits nicely in glovebox. This one has multiple jumps per charge. If your on the fence about this let me pull you to the buy-it side. Read more
