I tried three of a different LED desk lamp and they all three failed within three to five months. All of them. So, I started looking for something else and saw this one. It is big. It isn't for a small desk, but it is so versatile in positioning that it functions as a desk lamp when I need it and I can swivel the light 180 degrees upwards and have indirect light in the office. I like the three light temperatures of cool, daylight and warm. I use the warm color temperature in the afternoons and evenings to keep my exposure to blue light down and promote better sleep. I like the daylight color temperature during the morning and midday to keep me awake. There are ten light levels, down to night-light level. This is one sweet lamp. The lamp mounts to a clamp or a weighted base, both included. The tensor springs allow for a plethora of positioning and keep the lamp pretty much where it's placed. Now, it isn't a swivel lamp, so movements are linear, but there is so much light put out by this lamp, even getting "near" to perfect placement is perfect. I have a large desk — too thick for a vice-grip lamp mount — taken up by three 27” computer monitors, so I needed a lap that could: 1. Tabletop base mount 2. Tall enough to get over the monitors 3. Be adjustable AND 4. Supply enough quality light to use the desk as a writing space (in addition to a computing platform This lamp exceeded all of my expectations for the price. It’s stable; it reaches over the monitors; adjusts to point anyplace I want on the desk from without monitor interference; and, as an unexpected bonus, it’s perfect for video conference lighting, which freed-up more desk space. That the color temperature is also adjustable … I can’t think of a reason for someone to buy an alternative product for desktop lighting. Great light for the price. I needed something with a flexible reach and multiple joints. and this looked promising. Now i have two in use and a third being given for Christmas. Some Pros: Long reach when extended out. Multiple joints provide lots of positioning options. Swivel light head allows you to shine the light up/down exactly where you need it. Light on/off switch has a soft blue glow when the light is off, easy to find in the dark Enough brightness settings many environments. Clamp mount is large and solid, works well. Light stays cool to the touch. Some Cons Power/settings control is in-line with the power cable so you have to accommodate cord routing. Would prefer to have controls on top of the light assemble. I've had this lamp for a year now, still working and so glad I bought it! The light settings are easy to control and very useful, and the lamp itself articulates beautifully. I can smoothly move it to just where it needs to be and it holds its place, don't need to re-tighten the screws at the joins, it doesn't go loose on you over time. Since it's light and slim, if I need the light powerful and focused I can get it very close to an object without it obstructing my view, or I can tip it up for a bit of ambient lighting in the room. Only wear and tear after a year of daily use is that my fingernail broke through the on switch casing, since it's small it's tempting to use your nail. Nbd, just cosmetic. I wake up super early every morning to sculpt miniatures before my dayjob. That satisfying little click on is a welcoming part of my daily routine. I can make the light brighter and more white as I wake up. A good desk lamp can be like a good friend, and this one has been loyal. Read more
