I've seen some reviews by people who aren't sure how to use this. I bend over the sink, turn my head sideways (as though I were using a neti pot) and squirt gently once. I find it much gentler than a neti pot, although it still dries my nose out a bit. The dryness is easy to fix ... my naturopath suggested putting a drop of high quality oil (I use a small dab of skin-warmed coconut oil) at the base of each nostril and snuffing it up. It sounds strange -- I was skeptical -- but it really works and feel nice! The herbs in the solution are anti-bacterial and antiseptic. I started using this after I caught some unfortunate bacteria sharing food with a friend. Gargling and using a solution in my mouth didn't seem to be enough, so I tried using this in case my nasal passage was harboring some of the bacteria and re-infecting my mouth. It worked! (Yeah!) But another benefit has turned out to be how easily I sleep at night. Using this before I go to bed, I can sleep with my mouth closed again. Read more
The spray bottle that this comes in is not great, always squeezes a blop of liquid out at the end of the squeeze, and I haven't been able to figure out any way to stop that from happening short of squeezing so lightly that very little product is sprayed into my sinuses. That being said, I do have my own empty glass spray pump bottles, so I used one of them to spray instead. The product works great! I prefer using natural products that don't put harmful chemicals and medications into my body, and this works as well or better than most OTC sinus sprays without the chemicals. I use this about 10 minutes before I go to bed, and it clears my sinuses so I don't snore (as much). I usually wake up with clear sinuses too. Sometimes I'll use it during the day, and it works just as well. I will say that you need to follow the instructions on the bottle to get full benefits. This product is really helping with my fall allergies. I highly recommend it to anyone who wakes up with sinus pain due to allergies or dryness. I'm impressed with how much better i feel in the morning. I use it 2-3 times a day. Morning, maybe afternoon, if I need it, and right before bed. The real test will come with winter. I heat with a woodstove and although I love the warmth, the dryness really gets to me. All winter long I suffer with morning sinus headaches and pain. Plain saline rinses and misters don't help at all. I will definitely be updateing my review come winter. Read more
