Used as a squirrel deterrent, along with a plastic cone shield, it works! The squirrels get frustrated trying to climb the long pole, and we put it far enough away from trees, so they can't jump onto it. Easy to assemble, seems sturdy, and the ability to change the height is nice. The hooks are large, attractive, and functional. It held a hanging impatiens basket on one hook and bird feeder on the other hook all summer, and had no rust or other issues. We took down the flower basket for the winter, leaving the feeder, and will probably replace the basket with a second feeder, as the pole tilts to one side without something on both hooks. love them. very tall. can change/ adjust the height of them. thinner so I hope they dont bend over in wind or with heavier weight -but I love the hooks and that there are four hooks on each. in the photo, the taller one is this new hook, the thicker one is the shorter hook that i previously owned. This is the second time I ordered this product and the second order is not the same as the first. The first pole was way bigger in diameter and sturdier. I bought this a second time because one of the first ones I ordered bent at the base, so I bought a second time to replace the broken bottom segment. But the second item is way thinner than the first. By the time I went to fix the old one and figured this out, I had missed the return window. So now I’m stuck with these flimsy good for nothing Shepard hooks that will bend with a weak gust of wind. Really cute and goes together easy. Only downside it that they bend a lot, too much really when you have a bird feeder on one of them. We had to remove some of the poles down to only two for it to balance properly. Would be perfect for lighter items like lights and hummingbird feeders or small bird feeders. These were very easy to assemble and stick to the ground. They seem ok quality but they’re definitely NOT the sturdiest out there. However with the strong winds recently they’ve not bended or fallen so it’s okay. I like how it’s easy to adjust the height. We use them for bird feeders (one feeder each) and I wanted to hang flowers on the other side but I’m not sure if they could carry that weight without bending. Read more
