This is a versatile item. I am using mine in my garage. Sometimes you leave the house and wonder if you really closed the door. This WiFi camera gives an easy way to check. This blends into the ceiling such that no one really knows it is there. Set up took several tries. There was no smoke detector camera choice, only a smart camera choice. What worked was to ignore the smart configuration choice and use the second choice of connecting through wifi settings directly to the camera. Done this way proved successful.
