I don’t realize how dull my old knives had gotten until I replaced them with these. I feel like the fruit ninja with these. I’ve been practicing my knife skills and watching some videos to improve my chopping technique. I’m slicing and dicing at lightning speed like there’s no tomorrow. I’m able to comfortably pivot my wrist when doing a lot of chopping. I can dice an onion without as much onion juices out because it’s slicing clean and not squeezing and bruising. I was also able to slice some ham super thin like lunch meat. The steak knives are just for steak either. They cut through chicken breast and pork chops so easily. The knife block holds everything on the countertop in a 5”x7.5” space. Not only it’s very compact, but safe than putting them in the drawer. I did not realize how much my old knives were slowing me down until this set showed up. The first time I sliced a tomato it actually cut clean instead of squishing it, which oddly made me want to cook more. These knives are sharp right from the start and I love that they have the sharpener built right into the block. It is so convenient to keep them always sharp without dragging out a separate tool. The steak knives have already made it to the table when we cook at home on the weekends and my boyfriend even noticed the difference cutting his food. The scissors come in handy more than I expected for opening packages and trimming herbs from my little indoor garden. The block looks nice on the counter and does not feel bulky. These knives are always sharp and ready to slice even the most delicate of things like tomatoes. The set comes with a chef knife, a carving knife, utility and paring knives, a bread knife, six steak knives and a pair of rugged kitchen scissors. The handles are all ergonomically shaped and provide good balance and grip to the heavy steel knives. These knives wash up well. I don’t put mine in the dishwasher, but they are safe to do so with.
