LOVE the fit of these jeans. They are a tad darker than I would like, but it doesn’t matter because of the fit. One other minor complaint...the first time I wore them, one of the metal rivets came off. My one year old niece found it, gave it to her mom. She then yelled out “WHAT IS THIS METAL THING? WHAT DOES NYDJ MEAN?” Tad embarrassing. Again - ALL can be forgiven because they are THE BEST fitting jeans. FYI - I normally wear a 20W and ordered 18W (only size they had). They still fit awesome. A bit of a thicker jean material than most brands. The cut is very generous. If the waist fits... The butt and thighs fit will be huge. If you have a narrow waist but, thick assets - these are for you. I'm built fairly straight, so the jeans are very baggy on me even after a hot wash. Read more

Color is great, fit and feel is amazing. Really does have a slimming effect. When choosing a size keep in mind that there is a definite difference between their jeans with 1% spandex vs. 2% spandex (info found in product details description halfway down the page). The 2% is often labeled 'stretch' and has considerable more stretch than ones with only 1%. You can easily size down with 2% as NYDJ suggests in their sizing chart, but 1% can be less comfortable to size down. Read more

LOVE THESE JEANS! I'm 5'4" tall, 180 lbs, and I ordered a size 16W. When I first tried them on, I was pleased with the fit, although they were a bit too long for me. But after being washed and dried, they did shrink in length a bit, and are just right for me now. I hadn't tried NYDJ Women's Plus-Size Marilyn Straight Jeans before. But they fit so nice and are so comfortable, with just enough stretch, that even though they're more expensive than I've previously spent for a pair of jeans, I hope to buy another pair of two in the future. After reading reviews asking if these might be knock-off or NYDJ remainders, I decided to do a little experiment. I bought three pairs of NYDJ through Amazon and then bought the same style (and color) from the NYDJ site. Amazon's purchase: The jeans bought through Amazon's vendor had MUCH thinner material. ALL three pairs bought from Amazon began to thin in the thighs after two weeks, after a month there were holes forming. NYDJ Site purchase: These jeans are still looking fairly good. They are not wearing as well as the original NYDJ I have from some years ago... but are holding up better than the amazon vendor's. Now for the purpose of those who will say 'well you wore them to often without washing' - I only wear my jeans one day then they go into the laundry. Why only one day? Because I spend a great deal of time outside and DC humidity is just awful. Most days I'm weeding the garden or just chasing dogs around my yard, so I am not over stressing the material with my work. Did I buy them to small? No, they are actually a little loose. I don't like feeling like a sausage roll and prefer my jeans to allow me to breath. Do I wash them in hot? No, my jeans are washed in warm (not hot) water using a small amount of Meyer's laundry detergent & softener then dried on low. So these jeans were worn four times before they were starting to fall apart. I had to place patches inside the jeans to prevent them from disintegrating while I was wearing them. Read more

This cut often your encouraged to size down. I wear 24 nydj’s with comfort at size 24 .... however the ones that claim to make you look a size larger and you should size down .... are snug in my normal size. I’m going to keep them, better to snug then too loose. But I had hoped for a comfortable straight leg. And it’s more a small bell and snug to the point of uncomfortable.... but I think they will loosen and I am dropping pounds Read more

I am a very large woman and have been searching for jeans that fit my body for a long time. These not only fit great, but they are very flattering and high quality. Best of all, for me, is that this style ("Marilyn") has a high rise, so eliminates the muffin-top problem.
