It Works But Then It Doesn't

I purchased this to use with my Rove R2-4K Pro dashcam with the hope it would allow me to enable the parking monitor workout having to install the Rove hardware kit. Although it powers the dashcam just fine, the software still detects that the hardware kit isn't installed and therefore, parking monitor can't be turned on. Since that was the main reason for buying this item I think I'm going to have to return it. I even tried switching between the different voltages on the OBDII plug but that made no difference.
