Why did you pick this product vs others?: I’ve been hiking for some 30 years and in that time I’ve tried lots of hiking shoes but Oboz fit my foot the best. With great arch support and ankle protection that helps avoid turning my foot and falling. The soles are think but flexible allowing for comfortable hikes with good grip and while I sometime have to replace the insoles the outer shoe is almost indestructible. In the past I have worn Oboz sawtooth X but this time tried the Oboz Katabatic Lt waterproof and am extremely happy with them. They provide the same features mentioned above and are also light enough that I can wear them for every day errands. Super happy with this shoe. Read more

Quality shoe that is well built and sturdy. Great for hiking. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that the sides of the shoe are tall and cut into my ankle bone. If you have high ankle bones this would not be an issue. I had to put interior lift in the shoe to accommodate. Read more

This is absolutely the best pair of footwear I have ever had! And I have been hiking for over 40 years. On a recent trip abroad I was backpacking on and off trail as well as city walking.
