Bought this as a later model upgrade (size and gear reduction) for my 1987 K5 Blazer with a TBI 350. Cranks over great, no shims or modifications were required! Came with bolts, no shims, but they weren't needed. Clears the transmission line way easier than the old clunker original did. 5 stars, will update if I have any longevity problems, but 1st few starts all good! Read more
Looks identical to the ones we buy at the local parts store but costs about 60% less. So far it's working fine with no problems. Read more
This is the second starter. The first one arrived in a box that was beat to hell and one post on the starter was bent, sent it back got the second one. Second one arrived and appears to be in good condition but the box was not taped up or sealed in any way, really? Stupid! Only took a second to remove the old starter and install this one, appears to work perfectly we'll see how long it lives.? 97" Chevy C1500 5.7 . FYI..great header clearance. Read more
This starter is great. It's compact (smaller than OE) so it's easy to install. spins faster than I ever remember the old one spinning, and the price is amazing. Read more
Update: Lasted 16 months on a van that has not been driven much. Starter failed, good thing I have the old AC Delco that I will rebuild. This starter was easy to install. Two large bolts and two small nuts to hold the wiring on. Did not come with a drip shield or a locking nut for the power connection but it was easy enough to swap the shield over and, to me, it feels like the shield is a model specific attachment and probably varies quite a bit from vehicle to vehicle. As for the lock-nut, I just swapped the one over from the old starter. I took a tip from ChrisFix and, once attached and tight, slathered the connections in silicone grease. It is made in China for those that care about that. I don't and this starter works perfectly. I simply changed it out and my van fired right up. If it fails, and I'll update the review in 6 months or so, I'll buy another and still be less expensive than the chain parts stores. I paid $50 shipped to my door with no core charge so if I want to clean up the Delco and have it rebuilt, that is available to me. Oh, it arrived 2 days after ordering it! Read more

This starter is super! I used it to replace another mini starter from a name brand manufacturer. The one I replaced never really worked very well. The new i understand starters is lightweight, yet it still has the length of an OEM starter. This allowed for reusing the front mount. This starter needed no shims and was very easy to install. I highly recommend this starter. Read more
