Pros & cons. Con, starter finish. Even thow the starter looks like it has a nickel finish for rust preventative I can not say if it is a good finish. It would have been much better if it had the (gold colored) zink plating. Time will tell if it will rust. Pros. Cost. A starter for a Honda engine in the $50.00 dollar rang is a good price. I checked on line for the same starter from a power equipment parts supplier and they wanted $190.00+ for this starter. In fact the pictures of the starters looked like it could have been the same one or from the same point of origin. Pro This starter as compared to my old OEM starter seems to have a lot more torque and power. It will kick the engine over in less than a second, aka fast starts. I have only used this starter for one day so far, 6 or 8 starts so far. Time will tell if it will continue to impress. If starter fails I will up date this review. If there is no update that means it is still going strong. All in all I am happy with this unit and I would buy again. Read more

If you buy this starter because yours doesn’t seem to work right maybe spins but doesn’t engage take a look at where the starter mounts there are factory pressed in spacers pushed into the casing on the engine. Mine were wore out and one was missing I couldn’t figure out what the hell was going on. If I hit it with a hammer while turning the key it would engage. I ultimately ended up breaking the starter and bought a new one just to have it do the same damn thing then I noticed the spacer lol Read more
