I grabbed this clear office chair mat for hardwood, 46" x 72", for my home setup, and honestly it feels like my floors can breathe again. The size is generous. The “clear” part, I figured that was a nice-to-have, turns out it’s the whole point, I didn’t pay for decent hardwood just to blur it out under a milky sheet of plastic. Putting it down felt almost too easy, like I was waiting for the usual nonsense. You know the routine: corners that curl up and stay offended, waves that never fully disappear, the whole thing acting like a stubborn poster. None of that showed up. I unrolled it, it relaxed, it went flat, end of story. And because it’s actually transparent, the room still looks like a room, not like I laid a tarp down and called it “protection.” Day to day, that’s where it pays for itself. The chair rolls the way a chair should roll: smooth, predictable, no tugging, no wheels biting down, no little bursts of effort just to scoot back a few inches. When you’re parked at a desk for hours, that tiny reduction in friction, it matters more than you’d think. One caution, though, and I’m not kidding. It can run slick. Not every second, but enough that if you do quick pivots for coffee, or that lazy half-spin to reach something behind you, you’ll notice. Try it anyway and you might glide a touch off your intended route, suddenly you’re nearer the bookshelf than the snack drawer you aimed for. What surprised me most is how it’s holding up. After weeks, I’m not spotting dents, scuffs, or those cloudy wheel trails that make a mat look old before it’s even earned it. My chair casters aren’t delicate, so the fact it still looks clean says a lot. There are a couple downsides, and they’re not imaginary. First: noise. If you hoped a mat would quiet the rolling sound, no, it still clatters along, that “small herd crossing the room” vibe when you’re trying to sneak off for snacks. And if your chair is especially heavy, you might see a little indentation over time, not catastrophic, just a thing you’ll catch out of the corner of your eye. Typical chair mat for carpeting. Mostly transparent with a million spikes to get stabbed with. Okay, sort of joking about the spikes, but like most, this has plenty of spikes to hold the mat in place. The mat is pretty rigid. Arrives in a roll, takes some time to flatten out. The mat isnt too hard. Seems like a quality product that should last until the plastic dries out and cracks. While I only had the option for transparent, I would have preferred opaque to hide some carpet imperfections. This does provide good carpet protection from chair wheels and seems that it will do okay with regular chairs. Definitely not for hard floors like wood. Read more

La verdad estoy bien contenta con este chair mat, fue una súper buena compra para mi oficina en casa. Tengo piso de madera y siempre me preocupaba rayarlo con la silla, pero desde que puse este mat ya no tengo ese problema. Me gusta que no se mueve tanto, es antideslizante de verdad y se mantiene en su lugar. La silla rueda suave encima, no se traba ni hace ruido incómodo. Además, el tamaño está perfecto, cubre bastante espacio (más de lo que pensé). También me gusta que no es de esos plásticos duros que se ven feos este se ve más como una alfombrita y hace que el espacio se vea más bonito y organizado. It arrives tightly rolled and under tension, and if you try to wrestle it open solo, you’ll quickly realize you’ve underestimated your opponent. Best approach: bring in a second set of hands and work it slowly and carefully under control. Once you’ve got it subdued and laid out, it starts to settle under some weight. After about a week under a large table on a thick rug, it relaxed to nearly flat and stays put. When placed under a desk, it performs beautifully in use. It’s solid, stable, and durable, protecting the carpet while allowing easy gliding of my saddle stool, exactly as intended. This is a well-made mat that does its job well. We’ve been using this mat for about 6 weeks at our front computer room desk, and despite heavy daily foot traffic, it still looks new with no fraying or wear. The plastic feels smooth, like automotive dashboards. The non-slip backing grips so well that once it’s down, it won’t move. The only drawback is that it takes a little effort to reposition, but that also means it feels much safer underfoot. The mat measures about 46” x 72” and is about half an inch thick, so it feels substantial without being bulky. Compared to other mats I’ve owned, this one grips the floor far better and hasn’t shifted since the first time I set it down. We use it at the main front room computer where shoes often bring in water and dirt, and it protects well without looking worn.
