I recently installed new carpeting and using my office chair on the carpet was difficult and I could tell the wheels would eventually wear and damage the carpet. The glass floor mat is perfect and my chair glides over the glass. I purchased glass because I have worn out numerous plastic floor mats in the past. They don't last long.
