This is a great non-slipping office mat. I bought the office chair mat for my office chair. The mat works perfectly for the wooden floor. The movement within the mat is smooth and easy to roll the chair in different direction. The friction with the floor of the mat is great and it does slip and go here and there. I received the Office Chair Mat for Hardwood Floor, 0.2” Thick Non-Slip Desk Rug, Silent Glide Floor Protector for Rolling Chairs, and Easy-Clean Surface. This mat lies very flat on the floor; it didn't take long for the folds it arrived with to flatten out. The edges of this mat are flat on the floor, and I haven't tripped on it. My office chair has 5 wheels, and while it swivels, I need to push it back and forth to get closer to my computer. The mat slowed the wheels' roll and required extra effort to push the chair back to get up and leave or to roll forward to my desk. The floor was protected, but there was noticeable friction or resistance to motion when using the office chair. The material is sturdy, the design attractive, and it's easy to pick up and move. I did find another use for this flat mat - there is an area of my floor that my elderly dog doesn't want to walk on because he sometimes slips and collapses on the smooth surface. I put this mat in that one slippery spot, and the dog can now go to his nighttime bed without fear. It is also an area where I walk frequently, and I don't want to trip over an area mat. This mat is so flat on the edges that I don't worry about it catching my foot. The mat does move sideways and askew, so it isn't exactly non-slip. Non-slip would mean it would stay in place. I picked up the 36" x 48" version of this chair mat in the Desert Canyon Ember color and it has been working very well under my desk setup. First off, the size is a good middle ground for a home office. At 36 by 48 inches it gives enough space for normal chair movement without taking over the whole room. My rolling office chair stays completely on the mat during normal use and I still have room to move around without hitting the edges. One thing I immediately checked was flatness. Fabric chair mats sometimes arrive curled or wrinkled, but this one laid flat quickly after unrolling. Within a short time it settled completely and the edges stayed down instead of lifting or curling. The overall quality feels better than I expected for the price point. The chenille surface feels dense and well made, and the backing grips the floor well. It does not slide around on hardwood and it does not bunch up when rolling over it. For floor protection, this works exactly as intended. Rolling chair casters can slowly wear down hardwood or laminate finishes over time. This mat creates a protective layer that prevents scratches and scuffing while still feeling soft under the chair. The rollability is also solid. My office chair glides smoothly across the surface without sinking in or dragging. It is noticeably quieter than rolling directly on the hardwood which is a nice bonus for late night work. Finally, the color looks great in person. Desert Canyon Ember has a warm, earthy tone that blends well with wood flooring and darker furniture. It looks more like a decorative rug than a typical plastic office mat, which makes the workspace feel a little more polished. Overall this is a nice alternative to the rigid plastic mats. I ordered this mat in the Blue Grey Mist color to protect my new LVP flooring from my rolling office chair. Since I have a small desk area, I didn’t want anything oversized. It fits the space perfectly. If I rolled around a lot, I might need a larger mat, but because my area is so compact, this one works great. I love the color and design! Read more

This chair mat is fine for protecting floors and allows my chair to roll fairly smoothly. The color is nice and it’s easy to clean, which is convenient. That said, it feels a little thin at 0.2”, so it doesn’t provide as much cushioning or stability as I expected, and the non-slip backing isn’t as strong on some surfaces.
