This mat works very well on hardwood and tile floors. I am using it on bare concrete in my office with great results. It stays in place without sliding, even with frequent chair movement, and noticeably reduces rolling noise compared to bare floors. The surface allows smooth chair movement without feeling slick, and the thickness is enough to protect flooring without becoming a tripping hazard. It has held its shape well with no curling at the edges. For home offices or gaming rooms, this is a practical and effective floor protector that does exactly what it should. This office roller chair mat is ok. It’s thin but big enough for a chair to sit on comfortably. I like the purple color, and it works well on my hardwood floora. It’s not fancy, but it gets the job done and helps reduce noise. A good, simple mat for home offices or game rooms! Read more
I know that this states its more for hard flooring but the office my husband does his gaming in has this weird carpet and he has broken a couple sets of wheels just trying to move. The size is good, he doesn't use a large area and this gives him enough space to move when he really needs to. It looks pretty cool, so it made his gaming heart happy! Even better, the wheels on the chair have finally been given some relief and I won't have to replace them again! That added value right there makes it more than worth it! This chair mat came folded in a plastic bag as shown in my first picture. It does measure 38" in diameter which is a little small for my liking. The pictures in the item description definitely make it look larger than it is which is deceiving. Not much room to move the chair around on it. The graphic is okay and the pile is ultra low and velvety. The backing, however, barely grips the floor. It easily slides on both wood floors and tile. Seems pointless to use it on carpeting. I honestly feel like the only plus side is a reduction in noise compared to the chair wheels rolling on a bare floor. I guess for the price point it's okay if you don't move your chair much. Nice mat. Has enough weight to it to keep it firmly on the floor. I don't have any problem with it rolling up, slipping or making ripples. Works great on my tile floor. It's the perfect size for me and I love the dark color. Just a quick vacuum and it looks brand new again. Read more
The GTACOTA Office Roller Chair Mat works just as expected. It grips the floor well, with a very textured underside; I've had no problems with it sliding on hardwood. The mat material itself is quite a bit firmer than expected, almost stiff, which I think is a good thing; it should hold up better, and bunch up less, over time. It's not huge, but it matches its listed size; large enough for your chair, and not much else. There's no noticeable odor, which some mats like this have, which is good. I will note I'm not very partial to the image printed on it; I'm not really sure what it's even supposed to be. But then, does that matter? To some it might, but personally I just care about function for something like this, and it gets the job done. Overall, there are better options, but perhaps not at this price point. I really like this chair mat. In the past I've only used the plastic ones that eventually crack AND my office chair rolls when I'm sitting down. That's not only a pain but also dangerous since a person can miss the seat, especially if floors aren't completely level. Here is a solution. The colors are nice and bright (probably with the gamer in mind) but I like color too. I currently have it in my front room on hardwood floors but it is going to find a permanent home in my creative space-design office. It will fit in perfectly. IMPRESSIONS: 1. Give the mat a couple of days to truly lay flat, just like any rug 2. This is almost like a rug, though the backing holds better when you move your chair 3. The chair DOESN'T move when I don't want it to and that's a really good thing. It truly is annoying when you get the perfect spot, arms in place, monitor in just the right spot and the chair rolls back, as what happens with plastic mats 4.
