Was very hesitant due to the price, but after exhausting many other options with no improvement to my hair after 2.5 years postpartum, I was desperate. Finally decided to give Olaplex a go and I’m so sad I didn’t do this years ago. Noticed immediately the nourishment it has given my hair, and after two months of use (tried a travel size prior to purchasing the big gals) I am seeing so much new baby growth and thickness is finally improving. I hate to be a Debbie Downer but I don't understand the hype with this product. The shampoo lathers nicely and a little goes a long way. The smell is neutral and clean. It's not overly scented of any particular scent. The conditioner, I felt I needed to use a bit more to achieve a soft, smooth and well conditioned feel. Both products rinse nicely. In that regard, they're great but it's a bit pricey for my preference and unfortunately the results aren't significant enough to justify the cost. For full transparency, I do not have overly damaged hair and its relatively shiny as is. This might be why I didn't notice much difference after a couple months of use. I will say, the products feel lighter than some drugstore shampoos and, specifically, conditioners. Again, it doesn't sway me much but to others this might be helpful to know. Good product but maybe not for me. I'd be open to trying other products from this brand. Read more

I used this shampoo & conditioner set for the first time today & I absolutely loved it! I’m finicky with shampoo & conditioners, I’ve used scent variations from two different brands for a dozen years or more now. Since moving into a new house & new state a little over a year ago, my hair has had some issues. My hair is super thin, fine & as limp as is even possible. No volume happening on this head! It doesn’t hold curl or really any style, straight hair is my life cause that’s really me only option. All of which I’ve learned to live with, but since my move my hair has slowly gotten weirdly brittle, hard to brush & I’m experiencing a ton of breakage. Moisturizing shampoo & conditioners make my hair heavy & oily too fast, even trying them it didn’t make brushing after the shower any easier. That’s been the biggest issue that’s gotten worse with time, brushing my hair wet. Even though I brush through it in the shower with the conditioner in it. I think that’s the main cause of the substantial breakage, regardless of how gentle & slow I attempt to brush. After using this set in the shower this morning, I had the easiest wet hair brushing experience I’ve had since my move, I was so surprised & happy about it. The smell is good, not at all overpowering & once my hair dried & all during the day today it has been soft, light & not at all weighted down. Overall a super pleasant & unexpected result, especially based on all the other products I’ve tried. I’m hoping with regular use of this set the breakage will cease & these short bang like pieces in the front of my head will grow out. I don’t want bangs! The breakage of my hair has basically given me bangs though. In the area of FL I now live, the water is incredibly hard & I do not currently have a softener. Add in the sun & humidity.. I’ve never experienced hair issues like these & the breaking & ability to brush through is all since living in FL. I’m desperate to get my hair health back with continued use of this product, if this first day was any indication, I have high hopes. I have extremely thick and wavy hair which can create the issue of buildup with other products. Upon first use, it smelled amazing and left my hair feeling squeaky clean with a noticeable shine and bounce to it. That being said, I also noticed very shortly after that my scalp starting itching like crazy. Normally, since there is buildup on my scalp, it can create dandruff as well and sometimes causes itching. This time however, I couldn't stop scratching! It wasn't until I washed my hair again with different products that it went away. So while this may work really well for others, it was a nightmare for me :( Read more
