Growing up, Old Spice was always considered an old, dying brand that was only purchased by old men, who used far too much before strolling up and down the aisles at K-Mart. This deodorant is not in that category. The scent is fairly mild, as compared to some deodorants that overpower nearby people, let alone the user. The anti-perspirant aspect is rather top notch as well. It keeps me dry and cool throughout the day and only seems to get overpowered if I am truly exerting myself (heavy sweaters - not sure if this brand is for you). Even when I do sweat, however, the deodorant portion keeps on going strong. I have noticed that it maintains protection throughout the course of a workday, but that if I go too long (work and then evening event, back-to-back without time to change) that the deodorant portion starts to waiver. I imagine a quick touchup while at work would alleviate that concern, which is ideal, since this come in a 4-pack (2 at home, one in car, one at work). I have sampled the over scents and like this one the most. Although the bottle claims "24 hour protection" I would not recommend you test that limit - as the scent will be overpowered long before the anti-perspirant aspect. Read more
As ironic as it may sound, I've found that using a non-antiperspirant deodorant actually makes me feel like I sweat less. I suspect the antiperspirants kind of hold the moisture around longer, so it feels sweatier. With a regular deodorant like this one, it can dry up faster. The scent is great and is goes on with a very cool, clean feeling. Ordering on Amazon is also Cheap, effective, easy. This is why I love love it! Read more
This is the second time I’ve come to Amazon to buy this deodorant as a 4 pack. I’m very happy with the result. It is slightly cheaper than buying it at my local Walmart and much cheaper than buying it as a two pack or in the double packs in any of the other area stores in CT. There are three people in my house that use it, so it helps me to replenish and have one extra on hand. I’ve never had an issue receiving them damaged or opened. It’s an excellent deal! :) Read more
Old Spice has been a staple in my medicine cabinet for a very long time, and the formula works as well now as it has before. This set gives you a few pennies off buying it otherwise in a store, so if you don't mind waiting another day to refill on sweat sticks, buy this and continue being happy about smelling better than you would otherwise. Little did I know this product would save my life. The day of, I put this product on for the first time before going onto the farm. Everything seemed normal as the sun was out and birds were chirping from the apple trees. Little did I know Barnacle, the biggest, meanest horse on the farm got loose. Barnacle came around the corner and stopped as he saw me; a look of indignation radiated from his face. Our eyes were locked and there was no backing down now. We danced around as if we were trying to convey who the alpha is, but with each step I took I knew he was willing to prove he had more. He charged. I jumped out of the way but he quickly turned around ready to do it again. He charged me again. This time As I jumped out of the way, time seemed to slow down for a second and it came to me; I need to get upwind. I played his song and dance only to jump out of the way one last time and I lifted my arms to the heavens. A bright light burst from under my arms stunning him back, causing his nostrils to flare as it came to him. After that he laid on the ground and I walked up to him, jumped on his back, and we rode off to together with the national anthem playing in the background. Old Spice has changed the scent of pure sport. After some pestering of their customer service, I received this email: "Thanks for contacting Old Spice, Peter! I’m sorry to hear about your recent experience with the Pure Sport Antiperspirant. It’s frustrating to spend money on something, only to discover that it suddenly smells different! We want you to always be pleased with your Old Spice products and I’m sorry that wasn’t the case. I have done some further research for you and we did, in fact, make some minor changes to the formula of this product. I have been assured that before this change was made, testing was done with people like you who love our product and they found the scent to be a close match. This is a routine practice as we keep up with consumer preferences and other product requirements. The overall notes of the scent haven’t changed, but there are some slightly different undertones.
