These are exactly the level of quality I’d expect from OluKai. As an island-inspired brand, they clearly lean into durability and outdoor versatility, and these shoes reflect that design philosophy well. I ordered size 10 in grey, and both the sizing and color match expectations perfectly. Build & Design This is essentially a rugged athletic/hiking hybrid shoe. The upper has a structured feel, especially around the heel, where the sidewalls are thin but stiff, giving solid support without feeling bulky. They feel like they’d hold up well against rocks, roots, and general trail abuse. The outsole is one of the standout features. The rubber is grippy with chunky, angular lugs and segmented tread blocks that look designed for traction on uneven terrain. The patterning and siping suggest good performance on wet surfaces as well, and the non-marking rubber is a nice touch. The large OluKai hook logo molded into the midfoot adds some visual character without being flashy. Inside, the collar padding is comfortable and nicely finished, and the footbed has a subtle texture that feels supportive. Fit around the heel feels secure without being overly tight. They also include alternate laces, which is a nice bonus if you want to tweak the look. Comfort & Feel They’re marketed as lightweight, but I wouldn’t call them light by modern standards. That said, the extra weight seems to come from durability and structure, which feels like a fair tradeoff. The stack height and drop are noticeable. You get cushioning and protection rather than ground feel, so if you prefer minimalist shoes these won’t scratch that itch — but for longer walks or hikes they should be very comfortable. Where They Shine These feel like true “ready for anything” shoes — great for light hiking, travel, walking trails, or generally being outdoors where you might encounter mixed terrain. They look capable of handling scrambling over rocks or rough paths without hesitation. These OluKai Maliki athletic shoes fit true to size and have a slightly wider toe box, which gives your toes more room to move. That extra space makes them more comfortable for longer periods of walking or being on your feet. The construction feels solid and durable. The materials and stitching look well done, and overall they feel like a shoe that’s built to last rather than something lightweight or flimsy. The neutral color design is also nice because it pairs easily with different pants and casual outfits. They have a thick cushioned sole that works well for both walking and light running. The cushioning provides good comfort while still offering stability, which is important for me at 6’3” and about 210 lbs. I feel supported without the shoe feeling overly soft or unstable. One feature I like is the inner sock-style construction, which makes them easy to slip on and off. The inner sock could be a little stretchier since I have slightly wider feet, but if your feet are a normal width it should fit just fine. They also include two sets of laces (white and black), which is a nice touch and gives you some flexibility depending on your style. At $149.50, they’re definitely in the premium range, but the comfort, durability, and overall quality make them feel worth the price. I got these men all terrain athletic shoes for my husband in color gray and in size 10. Sizing is accurate and he likes how comfortable they feel while using them. They are made of great quality and so far, have been very durable. The style is simple, but he's a simple man so he likes them. They are in the color gray and the fact that they are not too flashy and bright with colors is even better for him. He doesn't like bright colored shoes so when I saw these, I knew he would like them and I wasn't wrong. He's been taking them to work, and he says he feels very comfortable wearing the shoes all day long and says his feet do not get tired. He likes that they are an all-terrain shoe making them perfect for hiking and camping in uneven terrains. He likes the rubber thick soles that give it the necessary cushion. I like that they also come with extra pair of laces in case you want to change them into a different color. Overall, these are great shoes that perfect for camping, hiking, and everyday use. FIt is weird. I have several other Olukai shoes but these are completely different. They have the connected tongue, so they are hard to get on. You pretty much have to use a shoehorn. I went a half size up and the length is good but the foot feels snug due to the connected tongue. That said, they have a wide toe box. They are a little loose there. Read more
