Yes so far the juicer is AWESOME!! I got it for the office so everyone could be healthier...they ( and I ) all need it. If you are a serious juicer and a leafy green (kale and herbs etc) enthusiast like myself...GET OVER IT and go use your masticating one that you no doubt already have and cherish. This is an inexpensive, relatively quiet, super fast and easy to clean (get baking soda and a scotch guard hand held brush with soap dispenser on top for the basket) and fun, yes fun. This sucker takes heads of romaine lettuce, small apples, cucumbers and handfuls of carrots whole.. I dont even peel the lemons or limes. Prep work almost nil. In 30 mins I make enough juice for 5 people to drink (which is a lot) and clean up. Breville can suck it with their 1 year warranty. Omega got that 10 year like what. With 5 people going in on produce we save a good bit of money. The sugar addicts are a tough bunch... after a bit of a detox and attitude change.. they may come around.. buy and juice Read more
My previous review below needs revising. I thought this machine was great at first but it really did not last. What a piece of junk it ended up being. I used it 9 times and it but the dust. Love the machine and how it works. Easy to disassemble, clean and reassemble. My only complaint is that in thinking I was getting a better deal on the same item, I inadvertently purchased a model that is just plain UGLY because it looks so damn cheap. The bottom half is a weird frosted silver plastic, not the highly polished chrome that would match my other appliances. Why make this, Omega? Sorry you lose a star. You've cheapened your image and disappointed me greatly with this substandard looking machine. Yes I should have returned the item but circumstances made that impossible. Yes, it is a great juicer. Yes, I'm a spoiled brat who likes things to match and look nice. The thing has a 10 year warrantee so I know I'm stuck with it for at least 15. I highly recommend that you DO purchase the Omega brand machines-- they really are top notch- but make sure you don't buy the cheaper ugly one, or you will be sad forever in your first world disaster. I originally had an Omega Centerfuge juicer for many years. It needed another blade and I was tired of it going off balance and not being able to juice many things before having to clean the bowl out. My hubby and I looked into another juicer and decided on the Vitamix which is great. Although I did miss the straight juice from a regular juicer so I bought this Omega juicer. I LOVE the fresh taste of juice. I made orange/pineapple juice for several days and was it yummy. We still use the vitamix for our lunch meal that we take to work with us. If you are looking for a juicer this is a good one and it is NOT make in china. EDIT: I guess I should include a little more detail on the machine itself. It runs great and I get lots of juice. Some people comment on the clean up. No juice machine is without some clean up. I just use a kitchen brush to scrub off the basket so that helps to make it faster. Othewise it is very simple to use. Enjoy. Another note: If the machine seems extra loud then it wasn't put together properly. Also you want to let the items process slowly and don't force them down the shoot to fast so you get the most juice out of them you can. Read more
I purchased the Omega BMJ330, the first time on February 26th. It was the new year, and I was so inspired by Joe Cross's "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead', I was ready to incorporate juicing. After a lot of research, I chose the Omega juicer, over the Breville. It was great! Easy to assemble ( just follow the diagram), fairly easy clean up, and GREAT juice. BUT, it stopped working after 2 weeks!! No warning...flipped the switch...and nothing. Amazon has excellent service and shipped a new one very quickly. But now, 6 months later, the motor burned out AGAIN. This time, it started smoking! I am using this juicer for personal use, not commercial. So it should hold up! I am beyond Amazon's replacement period, but it has a 10 year warranty. Contacted the manufacturer today, got a voicemail (not feeling good about that), and now I'll see if they stand by their warranty. The biggest thing about this is the major inconvenience and disruption! Lifestyle change is difficult enough without your major tools breaking on you, without warning, repeatedly. I have health goals, and don't have time for this! Read more
Used to use the Jack Lalanne juicers, gone through 5 of them in 10 years. They worked good for being a 99 dollar juicer but they started making them cheaper and having extra parts that easily broke so it was time I stopped buying them. I used mine twice a day so they did get their use. This omega juicer is more powerful and juices better. I really am glad I made the switch. I was looking into the cold extraction juicers, and I almost fell into the new age marketing! Thank goodness I didn't. HHmm let us see, lets use a plastic auger to extract the juice that way bits and pieces can end up in your juice. And let us also have extra parts that can break and you'll need to reorder often. Nah not for me, this omega juicer is simple to use, no hocus pocus marketing tricks. Just a juice extractor with MINIMAL parts. Why buy into the hype and pay triple for a juicer that has bells and whistles that'll need replaced? This is the juicer you want to get. Don't go for the hype, spend the 99 for this juicer. Read more
