Great stand!

For only $20, I'm almost inclined to give this product five stars. The four stars are on its own merits. While a heavy, circular base stand is better for compact or high-traffic areas, this simple, lightweight, tripod stand does the trick when footprint isn't as important. This item folds up to a very manageable size. Once the legs collapse, the stand, itself can drop through its own base. All of the tighteners are working (though I've only had the stand for a couple months). The lack of weight is a disadvantage if you wish to attach a boom to it. A condenser mic on a boom reaching much beyond the the diameter of the base would definitely be at risk of toppling. For a mic mounted directly on top of the stand, you have little to worry about. Not all stands are created equal, and it is clear that this stand is of a much cheaper build than the more expensive ones. If you are gigging with your punk band on a 10x12 plywood stage in a smoke-filled dive bar, I suggest you get something a bit more robust. If you need a stand for open mic night at your coffee shop, I'm going to highly recommend this inexpensive stand. Read more

Quality product

I'm using a pair of these to hold a pair of small "Kustom" stage monitor speakers, and they are perfect for this, very sturdy, very stable. All in all a good product at a good price. Very pleased. Read more

Very nice microphone stand

This stand is very sturdy, and the fact that it has a 5/8 connector means you can attach all sort of accessories to it. Was able to attach boom arm to it, so it could hold my mic closer to my mouth when I'm sitting. It's a very sturdy stand, you can even make it point a bit forward by adjusting the legs (if you do it too much it will tilt and fall though). If you just let you mic sit straight on top. The stand is very sturdy, it's a bit heavy, but that helps it so it doesn't tilt easily. Read more

Fatal Flaw!

Every one of these fails in the same way - the tightening thumb screw that holds the legs out, strips and you have to duct tape the base to hold it up. They last for a while, then fail on the job - every one of them. I keep buying them because they fold up and fit in a very clever Gator mic bag. But they all fail the same way - even when I learned to not overtighten. Time for them to try a new engineering concept! UPDATE: Just bought my 3rd one. They all seem to be the same, so here I go again - same model. It'll last a couple years or so. Hey guys - I'd gladly pay a few more bucks and get one with a heavy duty set-screw on the base ,-\ Read more
