I needed a way to connect more devices to my laptop, and this hub has been perfect. I've got a mouse, keyboard, and external hard drive all plugged in at once, and everything works smoothly. The individual switches are super useful for turning devices on and off without unplugging them, saving me a lot of hassle. I’m always on the lookout for a good USB hub, and as technology improves, the hub you use should improve right along with it. This one has been an excellent upgrade for my setup. It feels solidly made, it looks clean on the desk, and it gives me the extra ports I always seem to need. One of my favorite features is the independent power switches. Each port has its own button, which makes it easy to turn devices on and off without constantly unplugging cables. That keeps things more organized and also helps reduce wear on the ports and cords over time. Speed has been great as well. It’s a USB 3.0 hub, and file transfers are noticeably faster compared to older USB 2.0 hubs. I regularly move photos, documents, and other files around, and it handles that easily without slowing things down. I also like that it includes a mix of USB-A and USB-C ports, so it works with both my older accessories and newer devices. Another nice bonus is the DC power input, which helps keep things stable when you have multiple items plugged in at once. I’m not using it as a “charger,” but it’s helpful to know it can better support several connected devices without acting flaky. It’s also compact and easy to carry, so I can see it being useful for travel or switching between home and office setups. The 7-port USB hub from Onten is very easy to setup and has a small form factor, allowing it to be used on my desktop or even tucked into a laptop bag for travel. It comes with your standard USB A-to-B cable for connecting to your computer and there is a separate USB-A to round power cable included to provide additional power. Note, though, that this is not a power strip for USB devices. The low power is not going to let you plug in several laptops, phones, and iPads for a quick charge. Instead, as a hub, it lets me connect multiple lower powered devices to my Macbook, which is great for webcams, mice, etc. The box itself is metal and of good quality and I appreciate having separate power buttons for each outlet. Unfortunately, the indicator light for the ports bleeds into the other lights making it difficult to tell which outlets truly are powered on (see my picture with only a single outlet powered on). It can be handy to power off an unstable USB device. This hub's independent power buttons enable that. This is a USB-C hub with a few USB-A ports. It works very well. The 5v power output is stable. Read more

This is a very flexible hub. Bonus for including 4 USB adapters (2xA-C,2xC-A). No rubber feet; you'll need to add those if skidding is a problem. The indicator lights align poorly, you can't clearly tell from them which buttons are pushed or not, whether viewed straight on or at an angle (See 4th photo). I also verified that the hub does not block power feed-back; if you connect a device to it that wants to supply power, it'll happily pass it to all your other connected devices, including the host connected to the USB-B port. This USB hub caught my attention at first sight because the ports face upward rather than to the side. For me, that makes connecting and disconnecting USB devices much easier on my desk. The kit includes the 7 port USB hub with with 3 x USB-A ports and 4 x USB-C ports, USB-A power cable, USB-A to USB-B data cable, USB-A to USB-C adapters x 2, USB-C to USB-A adapters x 2, and instructions. Each of the 7 ports has a switch that activates/deactivates the port. There is a USB-B port on one end that connects to your computer for data transfers using the included cable, and a power port that connects to a USB charger to provide more power for charging USB devices. The case appears to be made of sturdy aluminum and is a dark blue-green color. The hub is advertised as having transfer speed of 5Gbps but my computer can't reach that. I can only say it's plenty fast for my purposes and, with the separate power cable attached, it charges my phone - but not quickly. I used my phone to take photos of the hub then connected the hub to my workstation and transferred the photos to my workstation through the hub. File transfer wast fast for my older workstation. Functionality is great. I haven't noticed any heat buildup during heavy use. On the downside, it charges my phone at its max rate of only 15W. That's OK for me because I'm not a heavy phone user, but you may be different. Another thing is that the buttons light up when a port is active and turn off when a port is inactive, but light from neighboring ports bleed through and make it difficult to know if a certain port is active. Not a big deal, but it could be improved. All said, I like this USB hub. It has earned a permanent home on my desk. This is the most convenient hub I've ever had. My previous hub is now retired.
