This is hands down the best knife set I’ve owned. The steak knives are amazing, they slice through steak like it’s butter! I really like the design too, the blades are mostly flat with serrated tips, which makes cutting easier and more precise. I haven’t had a chance to try all the bigger knives yet, but based on how well the steak and paring knives perform, I’m already completely sold. If you want quality and sharpness, this set is definitely worth it. Read more
The OOU 2025 Kitchen Knife Set stands out as a premium, well-designed collection that combines elegance, balance, and performance. The German stainless steel blades are impressively sharp right out of the box and hold their edge through regular cooking use. The set includes all the essentials — chef’s knife, bread knife, utility knife, paring knife, steak knives, kitchen shears, and even a sharpening rod — all housed in a sturdy, space-efficient block that looks great on the counter. The ergonomic wood handles are beautifully crafted, offering a comfortable grip and excellent control during slicing, chopping, or carving. They feel secure even when your hands are wet, and the dark brown finish gives the entire set a warm, high-end look that complements both modern and rustic kitchens. The knife balance is excellent, and each blade feels solid without being overly heavy, making food prep feel smooth and effortless. The built-in sharpening rod is a thoughtful touch that helps maintain the edge without needing a separate tool. The only mild downside is that the handles require occasional hand-drying to preserve their luster — they’re not dishwasher-safe, which is typical for premium sets. Worth it? Absolutely. This OOU knife set offers the performance, appearance, and precision of much higher-priced brands. It’s a fantastic choice for home chefs who want professional quality and long-lasting sharpness. Pros: Razor-sharp German stainless steel blades Beautiful dark brown ergonomic wood handles Excellent balance and cutting control Includes sharpening rod and full set of essential knives Elegant knife block that looks great on display Cons: Not dishwasher-safe — hand wash recommended Handles need occasional oiling or drying to maintain finish Slightly heavy for those who prefer lighter knives Read more
Looks beautiful, comes with a sharpening rod and just about every type of knife you would need. I like that the steak knives are not serrated. They can be sharpened, and a good steak doesn't need a saw, just a knife. The handle is full tang, which means the metal runs down through the handle, sandwiched between wood for comfort. This prevents a the knife blade from breaking off when using, like cheaper sets. This is a great gift set. Read more
This is a very impressive knife set and the quality is excellent. The knives are heavy with nice grain in the handles and they have a good feel in the hand. I've been using Victorinox knives for years and I love them but they're so much lighter than these so I weighed the chef/ santoku knives to compare and these are several ounces heavier so if hefty knives aren't your thing you might want to reconsider. The steel on these go all the way thru the handle which I love, and the handles are shaped in a way that they're very comfortable to hold and I didn't encounter any slippage. If you don't know the names of the various knives no worries because the name of the knife is etched into the blade of each knife which I've never seen on any of my knives before. The description indicates the steak knives are non-serrated but they do have a serrated edge. The block, which has a modern flair to it, is a bit large measuring 7d x 9h x 6½w so unsure if I'll use as I don't have much counter space and am currently storing my knives on a magnet strip. There are no care instructions included in the box but they are printed on the side of the box so take note of them if you want the knives to last. All around an excellent product. Read more

Wow! What a great set of knives. I teach high school culinary and we've been needing more professional grade knives than the flimsy stuff we were originally given when the program switched over from home economics. These are forged German metal knives. That's just about the highest quality cutlery you can get. (Yes, I know that some chefs love Japanese forged knives and I understand the love.) But I think German craftsmanship is just a little bit better. Why? Because German bladesmiths just seem to balance their blades with the handle better in my opinion. It doesn't feel like I am trying to wield a blade that is too heavy. Nor does the wooden handle feel too light. The chef's knife and the santoku are super sharp. I like the simplicity of the bread knife and the pairing knife, which usually tend to feel too small in my hand, feels like it was crafted just for me. If I had 1 complaint, it's that I would rather have 6 more pairing or utility knives instead of the 6 steak knives that come in this set. The steak knives are also of outstanding quality. I just feel that my program won't get as much use out of the steak knives instead of another similar sized piece of cutlery. Read more
