Excellent, basic crock pot.
I was looking for a bigger crock pot to make bone broth in. This 8 quart model is perfect for this. I get 4 quarts of liquid as the final product. The pot is filled with lots of bones and veggies, thus not much room left for fluids.... However, I cannot lift anything heavier, and this crock pot is quite heavy when full. My solution to making more broth is to use the crock pot, and an additional 8 quart stock pot which I cook overnight in the oven. I love the pattern. I specifically wanted a manual dial, since electronics can fail more easily. Sadly there is no keep warm setting. But that is a minor inconvenience. The auto mode is a constant simmer, which is what I use for the 12 hour broth making. Read more
