I wanted to try this toothbrush to see how it compares to another electric toothbrush I reviewed recently. My dentist had been urging me to switch from my manual toothbrush, and he's right. My teeth definitely feel cleaner. This Oral-B electric toothbrush comes with two brush heads, ultimate clean and gentle care, so you can decide which one works best for you. I tried both and preferred the ultimate clean brush head. It also comes with a charger (which plugs directly into the wall without my needing to provide my own charging block), travel case for the toothbrush, and a separate case for two brush heads. The first thing I noticed when brushing my teeth was that the round-shaped brush heads for the Oral-B seemed to kind of glide over areas where my crooked teeth overlap (teeth that are currently being corrected with aligners), whereas the brush heads for the other brand I tried are more narrow and tapered, so they can reach into those crevices better. I recognize that everyone's mouths are not the same, and the round brush heads may be better for people with straighter teeth than mine. I also noticed that this one is significantly louder than the other one. I do like the feeling of the brush massaging my gums. The toothbrush has a sensor that can pick up how much pressure you're exerting and will let you know with an indicator light whether you need to ease up or press harder. It stays white if you need to press harder, green for just right, and red if you're pressing too hard. It has several different cleaning modes, which you can switch among using the button below the power button. However, I had difficulty identifying which mode I was in, as there's no visual indicator, and to me, the modes felt similar. As you brush, the toothbrush times you to make sure you brush for the full 2 minutes. At 30 second intervals, it will kind of stutter to indicate that it's time to move to a different section of your mouth. I found the stuttering confusing at first because it feels like the toothbrush is trying to stop, but this is intentional. I prefer the little beeping sound that my other toothbrush makes over the stuttering of this one. Also, when you're done brushing and press the power button to turn it off, the neck will light up with multi-colors to indicate that you've brushed the correct amount of time. However, there's no indicator while you're brushing to let you know when you're done. My other toothbrush actually stops when you've brushed for the full amount of time. I would say this is a good, basic, functional electric toothbrush, but there are aspects of it that aren't a good fit for me. That's why I'm passing it on to my husband. His mouth is bigger (ha ha) and his teeth are straighter, so I think it will work for him better. Read more
