Love my toothbrush. Been using it for almost 3 months now. Tip: I saw people’s toothbrush growing mold in-between the parts on TikTok, so since day 1 every time I brush my teeth I take out the head after, put it under running water for a seconds and it washes the crannies with no hustle. I dry the brush head and body with a napkin and shake ‘em a bit to make sure there’s no water left. It takes a few seconds to make sure your toothbrush is clean and will serve you a good few years. I love this toothbrush, but it is important to know that it is extremely fragile. I accidentally dropped it in my sink (max approximately 1-2ft drop into a ceramic basin) and it broke immediately, meaning that it simply stopped working and wouldn't activate even though it was fully charged. Again this is a great toothbrush with great cleaning properties, but for the price it is extremely fragile and should be more robustly constructed. Very disappointing, but sadly as it is still one of the better electric toothbrushes on the market I had to buy a replacement. If that doesn't deter you, then go ahead and get it. It has great power and a reliable pressure sensor to help you from pressing too hard. Works great at keeping teeth white than a manual toothbrush. My dentist always comments that oral hygiene benefits from electric toothbrushes. If you have sensitive gums, I recommend buying the sensitive brush heads as they clean just as well but without as much damage. Oral b makes good gum sensitive replacement brushes but they are sold separately. The electrical component (the part you hold that the brush heads attach to) is a bit heavy but that's where the technology is right now. Battery life is okay, not great but if you charge regularly then you won't have an issue. Brush head size is good for adults but might be too large for children. I was a Sonicare guy for years and years but decided to give Oral-B a try, and I think it works a lot better for me. I started with the IO Series 3 since it's fairly cheap, but the display lights are super limited and it's really hard to know what mode you're on.... the Series 5 has clear icons so you always know where you stand. I was researching it via reviews here and Reddit, and yeah, I can't fathom why anyone would really need higher than the Series 5; this one does all the essentials well and feels like the "sweet spot"... the higher level ones just seem a bunch more for a couple gimmicks and nothing more... So, I have an awesome hygienist and she was agreeing with most pros, both Oral-B, Sonicare, and anything else should work great if you have really good technique (which I kinda struggle with haha). The Sonicare heads are just so narrow, for me I feel like I was missing some spots, with the Oral-B just feeling like I'm able to hit every spot easily. They key for me, though? I've always tended to brush too hard, and the Oral-B has an awesome pressure meter, it's a glowing ring right under the brush head (green for good, blue for too light, and red for too hard). You couldn't even miss it in the mirror if you tried, so it doesn't just help for the moment but has taught me where and why I'd brush too hard.... that feature alone is what really sold me on Oral-B vs Sonicare! I finally upgraded to the Oral-B iO Series 5 two weeks ago after years of using regular Sonicare and older Oral-B models, and holy cow, the difference is night and day. From the very first brush I could feel how much cleaner my teeth were – that slick, “just left the dentist” feeling lasts all day. My dental hygienist even noticed at my check-up yesterday and asked what I switched to (she was impressed). The visible pressure sensor is a total game-changer. I apparently used to brush way too hard because the red ring would light up constantly the first few days. Now I’m in the green every time and my gums have stopped feeling sensitive – they actually look pinker and healthier already. Five brushing modes are plenty (Daily Clean and Sensitive are my go-timers), and the round brush head gets in every nook way better than the oval ones I was used to. The battery life is insane too – charged it once out of the box and it’s still showing three bars after two weeks of twice-daily brushing for both me and my wife (we share it, don’t judge). Super quiet compared to my old brush and the app is surprisingly useful for tracking coverage without being annoying. Yeah, it’s not the cheapest toothbrush, but for how clean my mouth feels and how much I’m actually protecting my gums now, it’s worth every penny.
