ORICO MiniMate 4TB External SSD Compatibility with Mac mini M4 2TB for 40Gbps 3200MB s Data Processing 2TB

I wish I could return this (bought it in the US and brought it back to Brazil). This would be the perfect solution for the Mac Mini M4 as it (i) adds storage and (ii) expand ports. However this thing keeps auto-ejecting from the mini, generating an annoying message and making the additional ports useless. It seems like it’s a known issue with Apple and Orico’s support have completely ignored me. And yes, like other reviews have pointed out it does have a loud fan, but that would not bug me if it actually worked. Still trying to make it work and will gladly change the review if I’m able to. Great concept but flawed product. Two problems with this dual ssd / hub Mini Mate M4 Ultra. The fan is too loud and you can't switch it off, support says it's to keep the NVMe cool so you won't have over heating but honestly it is just too loud when the mac mini is silent. If you are using your mini in a closet for a server out of your room / office then this could be a viable option, but it is not cheap and the small cable that ships with it is also a problem as the drives keep ejecting. I used a different cable and had no issues with the drives ejecting but how do they not know this is a problem. Other than that it performs as it should but the fan kills it for me. Read more
